NHL 2025 Draft

Between Treliving and Leach, they don't really have a preference in size or position, which is good news. They will need a big time home run with the few picks they have.

Would you trade up?

Wondering if a 3rd round pick is all that big a deal in a draft like this.

If they like someone like Limatov or Kettles, might make sense to "get their guy", no?

Does it make more sense to jump up in the draft? Not considered amazing this year, maybe quality > quantity?
If someone like Ryabkin drops then I'd probably move up but other then that I don't think it'll be worth giving up more picks for a player we can most likely select where we're at already. Could see us trading back to maybe get a pick in that 97-128 range which is the 4th round. Seeing some of the names we interviewed and might be interested in they will all be available in the 3rd and 4th rounds most likely.

Probably not. Low amount of picks you take as many as you can at your spot is how I see it. You can hit a pretty good homerun in the 2nd and the 3rd. But maybe there's a faller worth going for, but generally speaking the difference between mid 2nd to low 2nd is pretty moot.

I heard a few people saying that this wasn't a draft you necessarily want a ton of picks in because of the quality compared to others which made me think if we really liked 1-2 guys, it might be worth sacrificing a pick to get "our guy"

I'm ignorant as hell to this draft though and don't know more than the first couple of guys.

Then trade them for players at that point. I'm sure they can probably find good prospects at their spots though.
