alpa dont feel so bad, I pulled out the GameCube and started playing NHL2k3! first game vs the Blues ended 1-0 with the shots 21-25 in favor of the Blues, Jaroslav Bednar scored on an assist from Erik Rasmussen!

it was also pretty awesome to go through the game manual and see a thank you given to HockeysFuture.com. How i wish Sega/2k still made NHL games and forced EA to earn its money.

I always liked the 2K versions. I found the game play was a little worse than EA's, but the GM modes, trading, drafting, and everything else to be a lot better.

Ummm...NO.

MVP was hugely popular and only got canned because 2k got exclusive MLB rights. That's why EA went to NCAA MVP Baseball. I'm sure they discontinued that one based on sales, but not the MLB version.

NCAA was dropped because of the ongoing player likeness lawsuit and NBA was dropped because it sucked. It was an absolute joke in comparison with NBA2k series.

NHL will be back next year. HUT sales alone will see EA continue to pump out any game where the UT mode is regularly used.

MVP Baseball 2005 maybe the best baseball game from a purely gameplay perspective ever. I still have a copy on pc and play that over most of the recent baseball games. It is also part of the reason 2K games went out and got exclusie rights to make MLB games. The other reason of being that EA got exclusive rights to NFL games after 2K's football game blew Madden out of the water. But man MVP 2005 is just that perfect sweet spot of easy topick up and play but very tough to master. Just a great game.

Thanks Brodie562. Seganights was the early ages of night laning before the computers and those were great memories. God i loved that and the explaining to my friends neighbour next day about the noise and screaming (occurred once, solved by playing at a friends house instead of an apartment). Good memories.
