Anyone played it? I'm getting it September 9th on release day, had alot of fun trying it out last night. Heres a pic from my first game, to be fair, it was set to Rookie diffaculty by default so I was wondering why it was so easy. Set it to All Star and lost in the shootout last night.

Heard it was Xbox One/PS4 only right now. Could still check though.

Too get it on Xbox One, just go to Search on the home screen and type NHL, it'll be the first result. 2.5GB dl because theres only Staples Center and 2 teams, and alot of content obv isn't in the demo.

Limited to 2 minute periods for example.

This is my first NHL game, so not sure how it was in 14 for example. In the demo, I think there is a mode to be able to control your goalie, but it's turned off by default and haven't played with it yet.

Pretty stunned about the XboxOne version not having EASHL. My money will be going to Destiny instead this year. I may pick up an Xbox 360 version down the road considering that DOES have EASHL, but I'll have to play it by ear.

OTP is going to be patched in, I think the number 1 thing I see people crying about is no EASHL. But that's not entirely true, it is going to be on Xbox360 and PS3 version. It wouldn't suprise me if they add it to the next gen consoles like OTP.

I don't have the time to argue all of these missing features, but how is there no Be an NHL Pro mode? I tried the EA Access full version demo when it came out last night, and there was a Be A Pro mode where you play in the NHL....

Also I was able to pick which team I wanted to be drafted to, or go random. So there is a choice...

You can't play as an NHL pro in BAP is what that means.

And shootout means there is no shootout mode for offline or online as well.

Custom music is more of a system issue than EA, the xbox one didn't allow you to rip CD's and create playlists like the 360 did and custom music was a very popular thing to do to make all your music authentic in game.

I did the same. It's shameful. EA did NOT make NHL14 on next-gen specifically to avoid releasing a stripped-down version of the game. So they waited a year and still released a stripped-down version of the game.

Some of the stuff left out is just laughable. No shootout mode? Shootouts are already a part of the game, how could you not have a mode to access something that is there anyway?!?

I was upset about no GM Connected/EASHL, but I could easily understand the complexities of making those compicated online modes work on a new console. No big deal. But the rest of the missing stuff?

The thing that makes it worse is you have NHL and FIFA both under EA. FIFA gets EVERYTHING correct right off the bat in FIFA 14 (didn't even have to wait a year) yet NHL gets the extra year of dev time and still gets less than 50% of the features ported over (yes, I'm aware they are different divisions, but still - if one dev team can do it under a year, the other should be able to do at least that given twice the time).

I thought there was still the mode where you take you're created player from Juniors through to draft. Maybe I mis read.

I'd agree that FIFA makes much more money than NHL (based on worldwide interest alone). But you are crazy if you think that NHL doesn't pay for itself with a hefty profit to boot when you factor in the Ultimate Team sales. They even report in their quarterly financials that the digital ultimate team sales continue to grow year to year.

Regardless of which game the profits are coming from, the EA Sports division makes more than enough money to continue churning out titles without a drop in quality.

Alright, I gave in and sadly cancelled my preorder. Really sucks, was looking forward to this game and all the missing stuff is just to much. I might get it a few months down the line once they add more features and lower the price...

I wont be canceling my pre-order, mainly because I like the demo and the changes in the actual game and I don't really use many of the other modes that exclusively. I agree that the value is horrible given the amount of content they've subtracted, but I do really like the actual gameplay thus far and I need games for my PS4.
