Patriots/NFL NFL Patriots Off Season



Pretty much what I expected, they don’t want another Mac/Zappe dynamic and decided to make the move before there was any sort of headache
 
What can Patriot fans tell me about this Milton guy ???? All I keep reading is that he supposedly has one of the strongest arms in the NFL. Seeing how Will Grier is his competition for the #2 QB spot on the Cowboys I'm pretty sure the backup position is his. I'm also wondering if Dallas still needs to grab another QB in the later rounds of the upcoming draft. :dunno:

He's big, he's fast, he legitimately might have the strongest arm I've ever seen. Makes throws in practice that take your breath away.

He's also wildly inaccurate and has no clue how to play quarterback.

He is your developmental qb. He is loaded with talent particularly strength, speed and agility. Athletic as can be and an absolute cannon of an arm. He is simply not as refined or accurate as a guy like Drake Maye.

I wish he were with one of these elite qb coaches in MIA, MIN or LAR. If the cowboys can develop him properly I think he has an outside chance to be a starter some day. How far he goes will come down to how much he can limit mistakes and improve on accuracy in my opinion.

I do not think the Cowboys should draft a late QB unless they are willing to carry 4. Milton is no guarantee for QB2 yet.

To add on to what Gatormike posted, he and Josh Allen hold the NFL record for the fastest throw at the combine at 62MPH.

He’s got every physical tool you could possibly want, it’ll just come down to how accurate he can become and how well he can process defenses when he’s not playing against 3rd stringers on a team trying to lose against us

But we were told on the radio yesterday afternoon that they didn't get enough for him and we should be storming Gillette with torches and pitchforks for a guy who played a partial game against Buffalo's 3rd stringers.

I think you're right. I think the qualifier was 1st rd pick. With that said though I would be still be concerned about drafting him. If you're talking a tackle with the 4th overall or top 10 if you trade back, you need to get a pro bowl caliber player. The arm length issue seems to be a major concern for teams. I'm not risking the 4th overall pick on a guy that will never be able to overcome the issue with his arm length

In most years, I would generally agree with this.

But once Carter and Hunter come off the board, what player in this draft class would be worth the 4th pick in most draft years? They all have flaws. There's no one who's both a blue chip prospect, and who plays a foundational position.

In some ways, the Patriots have an easy decision on draft day:

1. If Hunter or Carter is on the board, sprint to the podium.
2. If they're gone, try to trade down, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
3. If you can't trade down, take whatever player that is left that you think helps you the most, and live with it.

I feel like it makes so much sense for them to try to take #38 & #77 and trade up into the last few picks of the 1st. And if they've got that plan going into the night, already having had conversations with teams, then it could also influence who they go with at #4.

If they like Campbell or Membou, but not significantly more than Simmons or Conerly, who they think they can trade up for later, they could pass on them. Or maybe the same thing with Jalon Walker and trading up for Ezeiruaku. Because I think there's value in thinking about what the combination of their 1st/2nd picks will look like. Maybe they double up on OLine, but otherwise, you're probably not taking two edges or two pass catchers, etc, and so thinking about who they want with that second pick could be a greater influence when we're talking about a high likelihood of not having an obvious BPA at #4.

Give me the short armed guy, he seems to be someone that can be the outlier. No more RTs to LTs. Plus he seems like a bit of a dick and that's always important for linemen.

But in all honestly, ask Scar and let him make the call on the tackle.
 
Not that we needed confirmation but Sanders bust city after his pro day which is just filed with twitter hilights, hopefully he goes top 3 and someone will bite

Sanders had a phenomenal pro day according to everyone. Some say it resembled Jayden Daniels.

If I was the Giants, I'd be drafting him.

And that's the truth.
