Charles Davis called it with his last mock on Wednesday.

I would like one of Alexander or Sanders, and one of Emmanwori, Watts, or Winston today please. I would also love it if they found a way to move up into the third given, as I think there are going to be a lot of good players available there.

What do we want day 2? Who do we want day 2?

Absolute Priority Need:
  • DT (wouldn't be surprised if we double dipped here)
Positions where we could use a higher ceiling guy, depth, or long term starter:
  • Edge
  • S
  • WR
  • LB
  • IOL (sneaky/underrated need)
  • maybe RB if they really do the unexpected and trade Cook???
The order of these really is debatable among fans and media guys.

4th best pick of the night for Trepasso. Pretty glowing review.

4. Maxwell Hairston (Bills, CB, No. 30 overall)
The Bills realize they need the ability to play more man coverage in key games. They got a cornerback who excels following receivers at all three levels of the field. Hairston plays to his timed 4.28 speed and has a case as the feistiest cornerback in this class. While he could add some weight at over 5-foot-11 and with 31-inch arms, he's not a short cornerback without length. As a tackler, he's up and down, too often going for the huge hit, yet there were plenty of highlight-reel takedowns in college. He's very aware in zone and plays with plus ball skills as the football is arriving.

Now Buffalo has someone to run with Xavier Worthy downfield. From a traits perspective, this is the highest upside cornerback the Bills have had in the Sean McDermott era. Getting him this late in Round 1 was a tremendous get for Buffalo.

Just looking at some of the past drafts. I noticed Tommy Doyle retired, which is unfortunate for him. I liked the sound of him from being super athletic. 2023 the Bills only have their top 3 selections still with the team, but 2024 all of their selections are still Bills, which I like to see. Some of the 2024 guys I don't remember seeing.

How was the C Sedrick VPG?
Tylan Grable?
Daequan Hardy?
Travis Clayton the IPP selection?

Are any of those players looking promising at all?

Thanks in advance !!

Hope the new CB works out. I liked how he was very positive with his fellow draftees. I noticed his positivity even before the Bills selected him, so it is cool they selected that guy.

Another quick question. Will the Bills bring back any of their remaining unsigned UFAs? Is this an accurate list?
DT Eli Ankou

WR Amari Cooper

CB Rasul Douglas

S Kareem Jackson

DT Quinton Jefferson

DT Austin Johnson

LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams

TE Quintin Morris

DT Jordan Phillip

DE Dawuane Smoot

I think the only guy I'd make case for is Morris if he doesn't find a home and depending on how the rest of the draft unfolds, simply for his special teams role. Perhaps Johnson camp/practice squad body.

If Hairston comes out like gangbusters and can lock down the spot across from Benford, is there any possibility that Tre White could be tried at FS? I'm assuming that's not likely since Bishop and Hamlin are competing for it but just a thought. I'm fine with Rapp as Poyer-lite in the other safety spot but not so much with our options at FS.

People have been asking about Tre White to S for a long time and the Bills have never talked like it was an option. Especially since he isn't great in run support and tackling.
