Equity firms are interesting. Not all are bad but a majority try squeeze blood from stone.
NFL values are like $5 billion now and increasing for the top clubs. So, any majority owner is likely to have minority partners. If this helps cities not have to pay the bulk for a new stadium, all for it. But, doubt it.

the financialization of sports heralds nothing but bad things. Theoretically it probably gets rid of a team getting absolutely f***ed for decades because of bad management, but the knock on effects are far worse and universal than that

It makes sense, and is the the logical end point of the way ownership models have been changing, but it sands away anything unusual or interesting and homogenizes leagues
