Hoping this team has the guts to develop Slaf elsewhere if he doesn't do well in his 9 games...can't afford another top pick to not pan out.

As for your lineup, most of your sides are off...thinking Drouin on left, Hoffman on 2nd and Gallagher on 3rd RW and Petry gone.

Andersson - Suzuki - Caufield
Slafkovsky - Dach - Hoffman
Dadonov - Dvorak - Gallagher
Drouin - Evans - Pitlick

Edmundson - Savard
Harris - Matheson
Xekaj - Wideman
UFA

Price/Allen

Man I'm not expecting much from that second line.

I hope they put Slaf in the AHL next season, otherwise they better put him with Suzuki and Caufield.

Don't think Slafkovsky should be in NHL next year. Prefer him in Laval.

I still think he should be back in europe. Ahl the following year and go from there…I just don’t see a polished prospect. I think I would be okay with him in the ahl but i worry we end up rushing him and it burns us. We seem to have some problems developing forwards.

Big fan of sending him in Laval with Xhekaj to defend him. Let him dominate the AHL for 20ish games.

dominate the ahl? He needs to learn how to shoot at a professional level. His stick game weak.

A lot will hinge on preseason + first 9 games, probably more than most years.

Think Harris has a spot but Guhle, Barron, Slaf are all playing for one. I'd rather see them all in the AHL honestly, no rush, but HuGo might feel like they'll develop best directly under St-Louis.

I'd also like to see Ylonen/RHP given opportunities over Byron/Armia/Pezzetta

Even if he comes back, he's not playing more than 50 games.

In a perfect situation where our team was decent and we wanted to "go for it" this year - he still wouldn't play more than 50 games. That was always the intent when we got a quality #2 like Allen. Lessen the workload on Price so he's fresh for playoffs.

So I agree - no reason to play him more than 50, especially since we shouldn't be contending.

But if he's back, in full form and top of his game - not so sure we finish as low in standings as many of you expect.

That is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early for this thread.
There's too many bodies yet, more moves are coming and the Romanov trade should teach you that no one is safe, not even Caufield or Suzuki
Suzuki is safe, he was on stage with the brass when they picked Slafkovsky.

Caufield I could see being traded down the line depending how the next two years of rebuild goes.
