Does anyone have access to information that can explain why Francis is having the troubles he is having right now?

Off topic question here but has anyone ever seen a scenario like last night where a walk off is hit but one or two guys (depending how many outs there are) get caught up in the excitement and forget to run out the play to the next base and then are forced out and the run is negated?

While I imagine that it's technically possible, I don't think I've ever seen it happen because the play is dead the moment the winning run crosses home, so there's basically no incentive for the fielders to even try and go for any of the runners besides the one going home unless the ball doesn't leave the infield and they can turn the force out/double play before the lead runner can score (which would either have to be someone slow at 3rd or trying to score from 2nd.)

Yes, it can happen but should never happen at the MLB level.

On the other hand, Robin Ventura once hit a bases loaded walk off double that went over the wall on the fly (he was mobbed in the field and never made it home and you have to physically touch home to get credit for a home run).

Edit: A ball over the wall is the only scenario where any runner can advance after the winning run scores. If the player forgot to run home on a home run, the ump would make him grab a bat (without a pitch), swing, and run the bases (which is also what I believe would happen if a player got injured on his way around the bases and physically could not complete the circuit).

So long as the opposing team picks up on this, then yes, it can be negated. Just like Krik would have to leg out the play to 1st to make it formal.

Can't remember which team it was, or if it was this season or last, but a manager picked up on the fact a player walked didn't touch 1st prior to giving way to the pinch runner, and instead turned back before doing so. Team appealed and he was called out.

Highly highly highly unlikely these scenarios! but best to always make sure to make the play complete by touching the bag.
