Jarmo will get a job, he already had some offers. Where do you think he will land?

Yes he went for the hail mary Babcock hire which backfired, but one bad hire doesn't erase all the good things he has done over his career. He is respected among NHL execs and did great job as head of scouting for Blues.

I'm sure a lot of clubs would want him as director of amateur scouting. A lot of his picks are now breaking out in Columbus. But his judgment as GM in the last few years was bad enough that I'm not sure he gets another GM job. I'm not sure one way or the other, whereas if he was fired a couple years ago I'm sure he would have another GM gig.

Maybe assistant GM or as you said director of scouting

I’d take him as a head scout. Not a team builder though, but seems to be a good evaluator of talent.

I'm not sure his track record indicates any other team should be lining up to hire him as GM.
Disagree, there is 80yo+ dude who thinks everyone needs to shave as a GM and gives a 7year contract to a guy who he waives the same year. Jarmo was a great scout for Blues, the fact that he didn't do great in Columbus who will not do well no matter who is the GM isn't really defining him.

Then again it's a hilarious cycle of old boys club just like with coaches, so who knows.

It's not one bad hire. He failed to hire a coach since Torts. That's 3 consecutive years of failure. It shouldn't have been that hard. DW did it in an instant.

Ouch, Columbus catching strays. CBJ has exceeded expectations so far this year and they have a diehard and passionate fan base. No reason to think they can’t be successful if they hit on a few picks

Coaches are kinda voodoo though. I was thinking about guys like Gallant and Maurice that go from being great to bad to great to bad and people can't decide if they are good coaches or not, it is almost like a random walk and it is really hard to say who is a good hire and who is a bad hire until you see their entire career 20 years later.
