Houda is very experienced - Islanders (22-24), Red Wings (16-22), Bruins (06-16), Rochester (04-06). He was most recently in charge of defense and PK for the Islanders. Are those assistant coaches good?
Awesome, thanks man! Much appreciatedHouda is very experienced - Islanders (22-24), Red Wings (16-22), Bruins (06-16), Rochester (04-06). He was most recently in charge of defense and PK for the Islanders.
Ulmer is much less experienced - three years with Abbotsford (21-24), and two years as Director of Player Development with Arizona (18-20).
So Wiseman for offense and PP, Houda for defense and PK, Ulmer player development and skills, Speer goaltending, Gialdini and Ward video?

We just promoted the guy in charge of our bad PK to head coach. Maybe fans really aren't the best evaluators of assistant coaches.Just searching the Isles board and they were ecstatic to get rid of Houda. They said it was one of the worst PKs they’ve seen with him in charge. Checking the stats, the Isles were last at 71.5% last year. No wonder he got fired.
And yet we’re bringing in a coach who put out an abysmal PK and the leagues worst to coach ours. A little bit more of an ‘apples to apples’ comparison being that a HC will be focusing on the entirety of the team and not just one or two components. We just promoted the guy in charge of our bad PK to head coach. Or perhaps fans are better evaluators of assistant coaches than GMs?We just promoted the guy in charge of our bad PK to head coach. Maybe fans really aren't the best evaluators of assistant coaches.
Funny that wasn’t our boards opinion while continuously crapping on Spott for our horrible PP and Deboer for refusing to cut him loose not just in SJ but as he moved on to VGK and DAL.Or perhaps fans are better evaluators of assistant coaches than GMs?
