Proposal: Next Bruins Coach - Let's discuss.

Someone young, fresh face with something to prove: Dallas Eakins

Old veteran coach: Randy Carlyle

If you take his comments at face value doesn't sound like Oates is interested in a NHL coaching job.

oates does a weekly talk show segment here in edmonton. when asked he answered that he wasnt offered a coaching job... when asked if he mighg take an assisant job he pretty much said no.

id say based on his answers he is open to coaching again but to be hes not the answer. we need a temperary coach.

I'd really like to see Milbury. Mad Mike would at least be entertaining, give time to players based on their production, call things like he sees them no matter, and if he fails it's easy to let him go and find someone new.

So here we go, get ready for a coaching carousel mad Mike, college guy then 3 years later back to an established coach someone like; you know Claude Julien. Hooray

I think they should get rid of the entire coaching staff including Cassidy in the AHL, and then hire Kevin Dineen as head coach, it may cost us a future 3rd round pick if we can pry him away during the off season, but we will get that back from whatever team hires Claude most likely Ottawa. Then they could hire a college guy as one of the assistant coaches and see how that goes, not sure I want to hand the reigns of head coach to a college guy with no NHL experience especially after missing the playoffs 2 years in a row. Dineen would be my first choice.

Boucher... No thanks...

He managed to almost run into the ground the team he was coaching in Switzerland (Bern). They were ecstatic to get him and his system out of there. Once that happened late in the season, Bern managed to sneak into the playoffs at seed #8. They then went 4-0 in the quarterfinals (swept Zurich and their phenomenon, Auston Matthews), then won the semis 4-1, and are up 3 games to 1 in the finals. With Boucher, they would have missed the playoffs.
He sucked in Switzerland. I don't want him to wreck the Bruins too.

I hope that if Darryl Sutter would be available, we would snatch him right up.

Big shoes to fill. Regardless of how frustrating the last 2 seasons has been, Clode is one of the all time great coaches in terms of consistency and overall winning.

I'm not sure who would be named, just kind of numb at how botched the Bruins have become. Clode was never given the proper defense, so I'm not even sure I can pin this all on him.

And we made numbskull moves like trading away a franchise talent in Seguin. Then we traded away Dougie Hamilton for less than market value without extracting the maximum price by shopping him.

And we traded a very solid young 20 goalscorer like Reilly Smith after just 1 down season for... *drumroll* Jimmy Hayes. Fact is we downgraded from a top 6 talent to a 3rd line talent. Because we were impatient with developing our youth.

What else? I'm sure I'm missing a few more bad moves over the years. Oh yeah, what about trading Boychuk for two 2nd round picks, and then turning two 2nd round picks for Brett Connolly, another 3rd line talent?

Bad team building and management is more to blame for our current woes than our coaching.

Good post

This move (if in fact there will be one) is so vital for this team moving forward

Prior to Julien and Chia`s arrival, this team was laughable/irrelevant and fans showed their frustration and anger via empty seats and something needed to change. Chia and Julien brought a respectability back to this organization and a Cup.

Now, both have made mistakes, IMO, Chia made the far more egregious errors but if a hunt for a coach is to occur, the implications if that coach isn`t the right guy could be huge.

UFA players, players who potentially will waive NTC to come to a city need a reason why they should sign/waive it, and these players talk, if a coach doesn`t have the support of his players, that spreads, if this team goes young as many (myself included), there will be stumbles, will a high end UFA want to be a part of that? For the money perhaps, but it`s money that got this team in half the mess they were/are still fighting to get out of.

Say what you will about CJ, not sure if anyone here has been inside the dressing room, I haven`t, but all I have heard from current and ex-Bruins is that he`s exceptionally well respected and I have to think that attracting players via free agency wasn`t nearly as tough as it will be until this team starts showing that upswing it did under Chia and CJ.

Fans here making claims they want to see more kids and that Julien didn`t like kids, I call BS, always have, I believe Julien didn`t trust the kids as much as a veteran and why would he? The majority of coaches if given the choice would handle things the same.

If this is goodbye to CJ, I for one will say it with a massive thank you attached, frustrating coach at times, but one who, for the majority of his time behind the bench of this team had this fan believing this team could compete for a cup virtually every year.

Good luck to the next coach, massive shoes to fill and a fan base who`s sense of entitlement has become nauseating IMO. Want to complain? Go for it, want to complain and back it up so management starts to feel the pinch? Stop paying for a seat in the barn to watch this team pay

It`s like those who don`t vote yet bi*** and moan about their leaders

HC - Guy Boucher

Keep Sacco as an AC because the PP was a weapon under him. Keep Whitesides as the conditioning coach. Replace everyone else.

Was it?

For the 1st Q sure.

But then teams adjusted and it was no longer as effective.

The 2nd unit was an offensive black hole the entire season.

See ya later Joe.

Yea, bad suit Joe can go too.

LOL, I dont know why it bothered me but he always looks like he got his suits off the JC Penny clearance rack... 30 years ago.

All of these names are downgrades from Julien.

This is my thought exactly.

I think if DS and company go full re-build (Rask and a few other core players traded) then it makes sense to go with a fresh coach. If they are just trying to add pieces and Claude is under contract for 2 more seasons, I think I give him another crack.

As for the names being discussed here, for me. Kevin Dineen and Adam Oates.
