Karlsson on one PP Hamilton on the other, every game 6-7 final, some of them we win
If we were adding Karlsson which im 99.9 percent sure we are not. Why are we spending that much money on a position were already set on now with Dougie in the mix now. 11 mil should be spent on an impact forward(preferably center)/ or taking on the salary of a true starting goaltender in a trade.
Was he actually offered an ELC or was that just assumed? All I read was that we weren't singing him and was going to re-enter the draft. So we offered him an ELC and now he’s on an AHL deal?
Wonder if he feels he’s played his cards very wrong...

I think there's a very good possibility that we simply didn't offer him a contract. The fact that he wasn't drafted and couldn't get an ELC from anyone leads me to believe that we may not have been interested in signing him, period, and that it wasn't an issue over money or him not wanting to sign with us.

That NHL app alert made me yell out "holy ****"
That sounds about right. I will say they love having the draft in newer arenas so it may have to wait for us to build another one, though I think we're prettymuch at the end of an arena boom that started in the 90s. Might be a while before the NHL gets too many of those to go with going forward.I’m not going to start a whole thread for this unless someone wants to but when is it likely for us to see another Draft. As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten more into the business side and would like to go to one. I’m guessing about 10-15 years since 04 was the last one.

This might be translated as: "Hey Jeff, it's a contract year. Do you really want to limit your trade options to only a couple of teams when I can cut your ice time to near zero this next year? Either play some defense, open up your trade list, or you can forget about $7M x 7."Brind’Amour echoes Coles comments about Skinner not being held to the standard and says we now have guys to take his ice time if he doesn’t dig in every shift.
It's starting to look badly like 2020 is going to fail us.I was disappointed in the lack of cybernetic enhancements in that supposedly future article
With a defense that elite, we won't even need goaltenders.
Precisely the kind of creative thinking this org needs.
We've seen what Skinner can do when he's focused and accountable and it's pretty damn good. I have a feeling Brindy can get him back to the way he played in 2016-17 when he looked like the captain of the team almost every night.
Yep, I think there's maybe 3 new buildings in the NHLs forecast in the next few years. Calgary's probably going to happen, Ottawa downtown is a LOCK, and Seattle will likely start in Key but will probably build a new one for their expansion team.Your probably right on the buildings. The general consensus seems to be governments are becoming tired of providing stadiums so I imagine we will start seeing longer life cycles. If everything starts working out for Dundon, I wonder how much he will put toward renovations?
