News & Notes XLVI: The Svechnikov Awakens, The Jarvis... Jarvis-es.

Pretty sure Rod's referring to Nils Juntorp

"Introducing new Canes media spokesmodel Henrik Lundqvist!"

The star I saw last night was that was Stankoven's 5th goal of these playoffs. The most Necas has had in a playoff run is 4
Its true, the career high for Necas in a playoff run in 4 goals, in both 2024 and 2023.

The most points Necas has ever had in a playoff run is 9, last year.

Over his career with the Canes, Necas was a 0.32 point per game player

Stankoven has 5 goals and 8 points so far in his first playoff appearance with the Canes, good enough for .057 points per game

The eye test isn't lying, we're getting roughly twice the level of playoff contribution out of Stanky as we got from Necas over his 5 years here.

That's horrendous...how has he even played 140 playoff games at his age?

When I'm sad, I just have to remind myself that the entire hockey community was so convinced that the Canes got abused in the Jeff Skinner trade. Why does that amuse me?

Nikishin already has as many career playoff points as Skinner. Oh, and we got Kochetkov as well

*checks box score of game three...

Are you sure this is a point in favor of your argument?

Even if the picks don’t pan out, the value wasn’t what it was made out to be. Buffalo wasn’t expected to be a good team after trading O’Reilly for spare parts and futures. There was a reasonable expectation of the pick being high. Because there’s a charm pricing effect in hockey talk, the draft round equivalent to the left digit in a price, a lot of people freaked out.

Then, even if they got a first straight up, the organization could have easily been happy trading down for comparable value.

the fact that Slavin emerged from this series as a +3 when we got absolutely f***ing caved in the first 3 games and that he was carrying Burns the entire time is absolutely astounding.

He almost single handedly won them game 4. He put on an absolute clinic in that game. Reminded me of some of his Four Nations performances.

The man isn't human. He's now +44 in his playoff career of 84 games, which actually leads the league since 2019.

The next closest Canes player is Aho at +24.

I swear to God if we saddle him with another guy just to mask that players deficiencies....

The entire world saw how elite he is at the 4Nations, bring in someone that allows him to be that guy every night.
