Did you watch PK? We are the 8th seed. The Devils, Hab-nots, And the Sens are all better than us!!!!

I don’t get worked up over the rankings of a guy that’s obviously trying to create controversy to add spice to a series that had none. If that wasn’t already obvious with him directly confronting Jarvis with “I have you guys as the worst playoff team. Tell me why I’m wrong.”

He’s engagement farming and people flooding his replies telling him how wrong he was is exactly what he wanted.

I think we’re going to be tested physically to the limit from the get go. It’s their real advantage over us. They have size and guys willing to use it and while we’re a little better that way this season it’s far from a strong point. Even if we make a strong showing early you’d think over a series that’ll help them out.

Otherwise, I think we match up just well enough.

Yeah, I think we got swept by the last team to make the Eastern playoff bracket a few years ago in the ECF. If we are looking at "entirely beatable" teams in the ECF, we have to be included in that list regardless of who else is there.
I'm not saying we're not beatable. I'm saying the rest of the guys also are and that we shouldn't be intimidated.

Great read about the players, their rookie seasons and who helped ease them into the NHL. Even got Rod to reminisce about his start and who he helped mentor (Spoilers...It's LaRose).

Some great Rod quotes in here

Did the veterans ever take you out on the town back then?

“It was interesting. I don’t know what it was, but they were always like, ‘You don’t need to come with us.’ They’d leave me out of it, or if I came, they’d make sure you got home. It was kind of weird, and I don’t know what it was about me, but they just said, ‘You’re not one of us in this regard and you don’t want to be.’ I guess they looked after me that way too. And like I said, by the time I got older, those days were done. Everything had changed. It was charter flights, so you’re not staying overnight in cities, which is where the trouble was. Now, they just eliminated all of that and the athletes coming up just had a way different mindset. It’s changed for the better in every which way.”

I get the implications of this one, what with the “troubles” of staying overnight in cities and how they didn’t want Rod to participate for his own good, but I’ll admit that I have no clue specifically what that’s referring to. I have like 3-4 guesses, all of which vary in degrees of severity.

Coke. The answer is coke.

Imagine telling those old vets about the invention of the Coke Freestyle Machine. Their heads would explode.
God I hate those things. I used to work at a restaurant that had a couple and they were nothing but trouble. We probably had to call coke once a week to troubleshoot issues, and they had to send a tech out at least 1-2 times a month to do more in depth maintenance.

They literally had to be connected to the internet to function properly, so if that went down or the modem attached to the unit went down they’d stop working.

HATE them.

Probably a big reason they seem to be phasing out of style
