They were talking on Sirius this morning that Ovechkin's projected record breaking date, per one tracker, is April 10 at home vs the Canes.

The Canes also play them on April 2 in Raleigh.

Given his history vs the Canes not a bad guess, I suppose.

How the f*** did Cirelli make team Canada? He's like 17th in scoring amongst Canadian Cs...I mean not that he's a bad player by any means but he's never topped 45 points (this year will be the first time he ever does w/42 in 53GP so far). I guess tons of players didn't want to be in the 4N?

Honestly, assuming Konecny was supposed to play that 3rd line center role, that’s a disgusting line. Three players that know how to get under opposing players’ skin, are all pretty solid defensively, and all have a nose for the net.

In his latest podcast, Chris Johnston said they focused more on toughness and grit in their selection process.

He also mentioned that the league is hoping no big trades happen until near the end of break (20th or so) and he expects that to be the case due to cap savings to be had by delaying the filings and announcements - even though some deals may be done or close now.
