This isn't the first time he's done that. He knows he has greatness in him he just has to find a way to let it out.
He's gotta break through eventually with the SH% being as low as it is. Here's where he ranks in some things.

On the plus side:
Skating speed: 82nd percentile
Speed bursts over 20: 88th percentile
Top Shot Speed: 68th percentile
Shots on Goal: 97th percentile
Shooting %: Below 50th percentile (doesn't list the number)
Offensive Zone Time: 97th percentile
46 of his 75 shots are from high danger (30) or mid range (16) locations.
5v5 CF: 17th best Forward in the entire NHL
5v5 xGF: 10th best Forward in the entire NHL
5v5 HDCF: 17th best Forward in the entire NHL

On the minus side:
His individual SH% and his on-ice SH% are poor.
His hits/60 are down from prior years.
His GVA/60 are up considerably.
His TKA/60 are down considerably.

His bursts last night (particularly driving to the net) were good to see since he hadn’t done that in a while.

I thought both he and Aho were highly engaged last night. Aho played the best he had all year, driving play during his shifts (Jarvy back makes a difference for Aho).

I looked at our Goaltending situation and the list of teams against this week and said that's a gotcha part of the schedule. Winning the first 2 in comeback fashion is amazing and showcases the depth/skill of our 18 despite GT challenges.

Much of the League's fanbase still views the Canes as a boring dump and chase team (ie Mollie, the Ranger writer last night said Canes are just like they always are, a N-S dump and chase team) but that's just not the case this year (Staal's line of course is the exception).

The team's goalscoring sure is fun to watch.

This women posts often on Canes players particularly RU teammates. This one is about Necas. Wow at transformation (hard work matters beyond natural skill):

"Nice to see you've mastered the intro class"
- Brindy

But in all seriousness, he does look like the game has slowed down for him this year, and I wonder how much of that is that he's just in better physical shape than he's ever been, getting less mentally tired every game

You might be right.....what's amazing to see is at the end of the video and how Necas looked originally so small/weak.

btw: he took some big shots from 19 over the weekend but bounced back up....that is another indicator of how he has transformed his body.
