McDonagh apparently talked to Stamkos shortly after the trade and him and Kucherov we’re on the ice working out together.

If I had to guess, Stamkos takes a discount and TBL moves Cirelli who is a 6.25M per 3C who’s offense never really has taken off (at least yet).

Or not… accommodating a player that wants to play with his friends in his preferred location.

Also, seems like he wants to be in the Eastern Conference (and eastern time zone) too while on the backend of his career. In Nashville, your in division opponent is a WPG. In TB, you have MON. Much simpler running the eastern seaboard vs the randomness of the west.

To some it matters, to others it doesn’t.

Sounds like a good choice IMO. Keefe probably learned a few things what he did wrong what can improve on and will be better the second time around
