Protas is like a player and a half, which makes him perfect for the Ovechkin line.

If I’m being optimistic we’re seeing the team playing with house money and trying some different stuff in the regular season to test some playoff options, and I’d hope they go back to their strongest lines in March. The alternative is shuffling and hoping for info, so I don’t mind this entirely as long as it pans out back to something sensible in games that really matter

I agree, I was just gassing the big man up. Although I wouldn’t mind trying Protas-Dubois-Ovechkin, with Protas and Dubois being such good possession players and defensively responsible.

This drove me nuts all morning. Ferraro is such a Rags apologist. He was so salty every time the Caps scored - blaming bad luck, rooting for a NY comeback. And every time Wichusen teed up a positive Caps talking point, he found a way to turn it negative (“yea, well…Protas was terrible last year”).

I guess I shouldn’t expect anything different from ESPN - have to cater to the NY market.
