Maybe they always get goalied because they aren't as talented as we'd like to think they are. Lindgren isn't exactly prime Vasi.

It’s amazing how Lavi had them playing structured hockey and they were literally the best team in the league, but as soon as the comfort sets in, the complacency follows immediately and we’re right back to country club, just do whatever you want hockey. Lavi lasts 2-3 years tops? Core stays the same and we bring in yet another “new voice” because that’s what the problem is, right?

Theory on why we have particular trouble against the Caps:

Once again we struggle to move the puck, especially on the blueline, and we have trouble with teams that do heavy checking.

Not only are the Caps pretty quick, but they hold, tackle, and use sticks on every play. They do it so much that it only gets called sporadically.
