He'll be 24 on Oct 12th which bumps him to the next category (only 2 years of exemption since signing), no? If he turned 24 in 2025, I think he'd stay exempt this season.

If I'm understanding this all correctly, he signed at age 21, but his first professional season under NHL contract was 2022-23. He signed a 3-year ELC and still has 1 year remaining, and as a 21-year-old he wouldn't be slide eligible. He played 1 year in the SHL and 1 year in the AHL, so he has 1 year left (or 69 NHL games) before he is subject to waivers.
