Actually Rosen is a good guy. I have met him. I also think he's one of the more objective announcers around. Olbermann is not worth discussing.

Rosen is a good guy definitely, he's not a mean spirited jackarse like Steggy or Glenn Healy.

But he is a HUGE homer.
Sure he's complimentary of Rags opponents at times and respectful, but his tone, pitch, excitement level is volumes higher when the Rags score.

And the whole "Save Lundqvist!!" shtick when the puck is shot wide or off the post has gotten old.

That's how announcers are supposed to be IMO. Be objective but get more excited for the home team.

Wow, you basically described him perfectly. Spot on.

It’s a rebuild.
He can't be taken seriously because he does not understand hockey.

Homer Joe and Nosen are MSG/Dolan/Rag shills, so you can expect blueskirt propaganda from them.

There was not a single intent to injure moment in last night's game.
When did Rag fans in the media become so sensitive?
What's next out of them, they will want a cushioned puck?

All the MSG channels are under the same ownership.

Did you want the media to applaud the Devils for the 2014-2015 season?

Yeah I don't totally mind Rosen as I realize that if he wasn't acting the way he does, MSG would replace him with someone who would. All things considered he's less of a blind homer than you would expect.

What irks me to no end is the MSG/Rangers marketing machine.. Could even call it brainwashing.. Signs as you enter a Ranger game that say "You are part of a tradition".. What tradition?!! You'd think they were the Yankees or Giants, yet they basically have the Jets' history in terms of championships in the last 75 years..

How about the fact that the Garden was a total dump - from the tiny concourses to the yearly failed health inspections that found rat feces in the food prep areas, to those UGLY teal and purple seats - yet every Rangers fan was proud as **** about their arena because MSG routinely told them it was greatest place on earth. Hell, their fans dance around on social media about their attendance yet most of those folks are priced out of the building, save those 1 or 2 games they save up for (and maybe that helps make it so special to them). Then you have the shows they run on MSG round the clock to promote their arena and players (Garden Transformed, Beginnings, Mask) that they seemingly exclude the other 2 teams from having.

Joe Benigno said it best a few months ago (paraphrasing here): "Why are we still calling the Garden the 'Mecca of Sports'? Their teams have won only one championship in the last 40 years, the Knicks stink, and who cares about the Liberty or St. John's? It's basically an entirely new building after the renovations. Why are we still calling it this? If anything, the Garden up in Boston is more the Mecca of Sports."

Post-renovation, it's a fantastic building. And some historic events have taken place inside it's various reincarnations. But it's best feature is that it's the only arena in Manhattan and can be accessed by millions of people within 30 minutes via the subway or a cab.

I don't mind the Rangers broadcast all that much, although Micheletti can be as much as a homer as Dano is.

Trautwig is the absolute worst.

No applause is warranted for the Devils this season.

However, if the Rags broadcast was implying that the Devils were intending to injure last night, that is simply a distortion of reality and they need to be called out on it.

For the record, I watched the Devils broadcast, but unfortunately some of our fans like to quote opposing broadcasters in our GDTs so that's where I heard about it.

I am going to scream Jeff Blashill at the top of my lungs until he is hired. I am of the belief that our next head-coach isn't even in the NHL right now. We need someone that is young and hungry and willing to change the culture.

That's what Dallas Eakins' was supposed to be. Be careful what you wish for.

It's not just regarding MSG. New Yorkers think that everything to do with NY is superior to everywhere else. That's how think and is why so many people do not like NYC.

I stayed to the end but I must admit the second the buzzer went off I was up the stairs and out so I missed the players come out and the whole booing incident. Several season ticket holders around me had sold their seats to Ranger fans. I'm not going to lie the thought had occurred but the thought that I wouldn't see a live game for 6 months bugged me more.

Disappointed in the loss but I went in expecting one so I'm not as upset as others on here.

what attempt to injure? Both sides had physical and questionable hits. Besides someone as irrelevant as Olberman did someone on the Rangers broadcast imply that?

I've met Micheletti through work and he was a very nice guy as well. A lot of broadcasters and athletes, former and active, politicians, etc come through where I work and many of them go about their business, but Micheletti came out of his way to say hello.

One of the nicest I've met has been Pierre. Guy just loves the game, could go on forever so I was able to have a nice chat with him. Next time he came through, I was getting some stuff out of a closet and I heard somebody say 'hey [my name]' and when I turned around and saw it was him, I was a little surprised he remembered me

Bingo. It still blows me away that this was "Fan Appreciation" night, especially considering the two teams expectations for this season. And as for being booed off the ice by their fans, let's be honest, if the situation was somehow reversed would we not do the same thing? Or be celebrating at their expense then? We'd be doing SOMETHING to rub it in their noses. That's what fans do.

Who said anything about wanting or needing an applause? If there is any applause to be given it deserves to go to one of the worst teams in the league, who looked as such last night, and who remained closely competitive last night with one of the apparent best teams in the league.

Honestly I almost want to see this game again now cause there are such wildly contrasting versions of last night. I never got a good look at Larsson's elbow. The only thing I really remember cringing at was Tootoo slamming someone headfirst into the side boards (amazingly enough one of the few things that was NOT called last night) but honestly I didn't think the chippiness was at a Flyer sore loser type level or completely one sided though being chippy was ALL the Devils did of note in the first two periods so it was easy to pick on. Even one of the reasonable Ranger fans I see during work sounded like Sam and Joe talking about the Devils being dirty last night.

His one on one interviews during the intermissions are nauseating. :shakehead

I never understood the purpose of this.

Can't that clown just STAND and give him a short question-and-answer session(like Deb does) and that's it?

I thought I was watching the Michael Kay Show on YES. All we needed next was a studio audience applauding on cue.

It's cool. Sorry if you were offended. I was just making a joke anyway. And I didn't know about the NJ article referencing the whole thing.

No offense taken at all. Just having a little fun but forgot the smiley.

I was at the game last night, and I don't really know if I saw dirtiness from the Devils, but they were hitting a lot more than I'm used to seeing and there was definitely an edge to their game. I didn't see a lot, or any, late hits or stuff behind the play. There was one incident with Severson chopping at Kreider, I believe it was, and Tootoo trying to mix it up with Hunwick, but it all seemed like regular hockey related stuff and not goonitry.

Then again, my perception may be very questionable since it could be homervision. I didn't see the Larsson elbow since it was against the boards I was at, so I got nothing about that. Seems very out of character for him, though, so I wouldn't read a whole lot into it.

Also, the booing incident seemed like mostly Ranger fans, since there were a lot of them left, especially in the lower sections, but I wouldn't blame any Devils fan for booing them after that Merrill giveaway. I dunno, I think it's rather classless to boo the home team during the last home game stuff at the end, especially if you're a fan of the visiting team. Whatever, raggys should enjoy the superiority while it lasts because it won't be around too long.

As for Larsson's "elbow", it would have been a forearm to the chest of anybody who's not 5'8" (MSL)
