Things might not be going the Rangers' way lately, but they're a good team and shouldn't panic.

Incremental change, sure.

Fire sale, no.

Why is Trouba's wife even a consideration? I mean yeah I know what he wants. But he's got a 15 team no trade clause, he can be sent anywhere else. Drury wont be jerked around again on this
I was under the impression that his wife was a significant reason he has refused to accept or consider a trade due to her career. If you you're trying to convince him to waive then it would stand to reason that the effects on his family are also with considering. It's probably not hard to pick the 15 teams that would essentially make him untradable.

The thing is, everything wrong right now, is just magnified and more consistantly, issues we've seen the past 3ish years including the playoffs last year.

I have a feeling even the players know its over.

These guys have their clauses, but thats just control on their part. At some point, there needs to be an admissible break-up here. The guys that obviously need fresh starts are still young enough to revive their careers elsewhere.

Stale is the best discriptor here. Not washed up.
Seriously, how much worse are things actually?

You can say some things have gotten worse, but at the same time some things have gotten better. It seems like the world is falling right now, but that’s a choice to feel that way and because the GM is a leaker who went public with team problems. It’s a long season. Chances are in February or something we’ll win like 10 of 12, and people will feel better. An 82 game season has these ups and downs.

I just think that this is really no worse than the team that lost first round in 2023. A little different, but I still think it’s the same flawed team that has the main ingredients, but probably won’t be the eventual Cup winner for the same reasons it has been the last few years (lack of puck movers on the back end, overall bad analytical team, Panarin disappearing in the playoffs, Zibanejad sucking 5 on 5).

I think we’ll get back to the playoffs because we have too much top end talent and then we’ll have a chance. It’d be stupid midseason to blow things up with an objectively good team by league standards. This is not the time to start a fire sale. If need be, that starts after the season.

Fire sale seems to be way too much of an over reaction.....but there are signs that things are not great like the losing streak in the last two weeks.......something will have to give soon.

As a Blues fan I would be pretty interested in KAM, Lindgren, or Schneider. I do feel like Schneider would be off limits and KAM would be more on the expensive side. What would be the ballpark asking prices for those three?

No kidding. If the teams needs a shake up, make a trade, but fire sale is ridiculous.

That said, if Braden Schneider is available, hit up the Oilers please.

Players not available:

Braden Schnieder
Alexis Lafreniere
Will Cuylle
Adam Edstrom
Matt Rempe
Chris Kreider (one of the few that scores in the playoffs)
Zac Jones

Players available:

K’Andre Miller
Jacob Trouba
Mika Zibanejad
Artemi Panarin
Kaapo Kakko
Ryan Lindgren
Sam Carrick (2 more years of a Tanner Glass type at center)
Why wouldn’t Kreider be available when the GM has already singled him out as being on the trade block?

Also, Rempe untouchable? I get that he‘s a fan favorite but I don’t understand why he would be essential to a retool

I don't believe the fault lies with the players. The history of Laviolette shows that when he is hired, his teams play very well for the first few years. After that, his teams go flat and he gets fired.

The Rangers have been to the ECF 2 of the last few years and yet, if they fire Laviolette they will be on their 4th coach since 2021. The problems are in the locker room. They have looked the same under all 3 prior coaches and had the exact same problems under all 3. Their playoff runs are on Shesterkin almost alone. The roster is tremendously flawed and the core players have poor attitudes.

I believe the sentiment is, untouchable in the sense that theres nothing about him thats a problem. I mean, theres a bunch obviously as he is far from a reliable NHL player. But he's so young, home grown, very raw but shows flashes of very tempting abilities and some offensive instincts.

Untouchable is probably the wrong way to go about it, but his current value is hyperbolically eclipsed by his raw potential. H's a couple failing seasons away from throw-in, future considerations, or 7th rd pick territory. But, realistically other teams wouldnt offer much more than that currently.

He's still very much a boom or bust prospect until he proves otherwise.

The only way I see that changing is if he doesnt grow as a player in the next two seasons, or Roobroeck hurtles him on the depth chart as a niche asset.

He does not much trade value. He is not a issue

Trouba and NYR's 1st for Jokiharhu and Buffalo's 2nd (or 3rd or whatever, depending on how much the Rangers need to change).

Rangers cut cap and get a RHD to be 3rd pair.
Buffalo get a bigger, more experienced D-man to partner one of their LHDs plus a 1st.

Buffalo have the cap space and Trouba only has this year and next if they don't want him long term. Added to that, he'd still be close to NYC. Buffalo could also flip that 1st for an upgrade elsewhere if they so wanted.

They need to suck it up, trade Panarin, find a home for Zib, send Lindgren out to pasture, and snooker some team to take Miller. It's a bad mix.

He has a full NTC I thought?
Changed to 15 team this past July. I think the story was he dragged his feet with list and teams made their moves. Some story that waa rumored nyr beat writer leaked Detroit and he added them to list of no trade. I'm sure nyr fans can fill in the gaps on the details

True on his wife. As was noted there are healthcare systems all over the country. Year # 6 of 7 at $8M per, sorry but I can't feel bad for Mrs T, she'll be fine.
I'm not a big Drury fan but sent him to the moon if the moon would pay!
this, except as modified below
Kakko stays
KAM top $ or I gamble on his potential
Fox not listed, moved to induce Zib to VAN
Vesey is blocking Rempe, stupidly; he goes
Wow, please make these moves, Jersey loves them all.
