This is probably premature, but this team needs a shakeup in the worst possible way. However, I'm fully cognizant that Chris Drury is Dolan's new Sather, so the biggest issue likely won't be going anywhere anytime soon,

Only untouchables on the current roster are Lafreniere and Cuylle. A guy like Fox probably won't be traded, but I'd listen to offers for him as well. I'd personally like to keep Edstrom and Mancini.

Make your best offers...then again, Drury may take your worst offers. Also willing to listen to cap dump trades where we give you an asset for taking Zibanejad and Trouba.

I really could see a trade with the Ducks making sense. We have Fowler who could be a lateral move to shake up the roster and we can take a LOT of salary back. I'd even argue we could probably take Trouba, and there are a lot of Hospitals in CA his wife could eventually look into.

Schneider's the only thing that makes sense for the Oil. But the Rags themselves need to redo their D. So there's no fit.

The Canucks were apparently interested in Schneider before, but Rangers said 'no'. Has anything changed?

Rangers obviously need some changes (Trouba, Lindgren, Zibanejad if it was somehow possible), but it’d be stupid to be moving other players at this point because the team had a few bad weeks. Happens to every team in the league. Not to say the underlyings were good before that. This probably just isn’t the Rangers year, but you never know. Edmonton was looking like a non-playoff team at this time a year ago and made it to game 7 of the Cup final. St. Louis was out of it back in 2019 at this point. Won the Cup. Rangers have the major ingredients needed. No way do you pass up the chance to take a crack at winning the Cup when you have that.

The thing is, everything wrong right now, is just magnified and more consistantly, issues we've seen the past 3ish years including the playoffs last year.

I have a feeling even the players know its over.

These guys have their clauses, but thats just control on their part. At some point, there needs to be an admissible break-up here. The guys that obviously need fresh starts are still young enough to revive their careers elsewhere.

Stale is the best discriptor here. Not washed up.

Not really. We only have 5 RHD in the organization and one of them (Emery) will be in college for at least another year. Trouba will be gone. If we trade Schneider, we're going to spend whatever we get to replace him, and that player will probably be older and more expensive.

If any of our young dmen are available, it might be Miller.

Are they just on a cold streak, or is there actually something fundamentally wrong with their core?
Both. They aren't as bad as they are currently playing, but teams don't crash this bad without there being something rotten at the center of it.

Red Wings should go after K'Andre Miller.

Red Wings trade F Jonatan Berggren, LHD Eric Gustafsson, G Sebastian Cossa.

Rangers trade LHD K’Andre Miller.

No 1st rounder but Cossa is the closest thing to a franchise goalie that's not an actual franchise goalie yet. Igor looks like he should have taken the record contract.

Red Wings backend would look great for years.
( Edvinsson/Seider : Miller/Sandin-Pellikka )

Outside of Trocheck one of the old guys are that interesting due to contract / age and Trouba and Zib have negative value.

If the NYR are willing to to part ways with the young guys, sure, they'll find takers.
