Galchenyuk is not worth Hayes and a second, not really worth Hayes alone. He’s playing on their fourth line, has failed to produce, and can’t play the position they need him to play.

I agree not saying i would do it but that probably what they would ask for.
Albeit I'm sure many on here would not object to it since hayes (of the forwards) seems to be public enemy number one.
 
Team needs to wake up before they dig too big of a hole. If they look like shit against NJ, I'm okay with pulling the trigger on a coaching move.
 
I think we need to split up the top line. Need to get a more even top 9.
for example:

Buch-Zib-Nash
Kreider-Miller-Zucc
Grabner-Hayes-Vesey?

Think we should have two of Zucc, Zib, Kreider and Buch on the same line at all times. Create two duos and rotate in the 3rd guy on each line if they cant find someone who fits perfectly.

I could live with something like that but I don't see the Habs biting on just a Vesey straight up. Galchenyuk as maddingly frustrating to Canadian fans has at least put together a season and a half of solid almost elite type hockey. Vesey let's be honest, really hasn't shown shit for most part as of yet. I still have hope for him but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm beginning to have some doubts if Vesey will ever live up the hype...we'll see

Not sure where I read this or if it has been discussed at all here but I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world at all for JG to pick up the phone give George McPhee a call to see what it would take for us to take Vadim Shipachyov off of McPhee's hands.

Apparently the 30 year old Russian who was 3rd leading scorer in the KHL last year and from highlights I've seen of him, looks silky smooth as a center, isn't good enough to make Vegas roster at the time and so he's in the AHL. I'm thinking he'd easily make our roster, it might not take alot to acquire him and so I know I'd be making some inquiries for sure....
 
you couldn't get a bag of pucks for Vesey right now.

Shattenkirk has looked awful in every game so far. I have no clue as to why AV keeps playing Holden. I think I liked watching Girardi play more than Holden. he is godawful.
 
I thought last year I read a stat like if a team does poorly in the first 15-20 games and does bad enough they have a 95% chance to miss the playoffs. Anyone else remember seeing this, it was on an MSG broadcast
 
Idk, I'd be more concerned with Skjei and Smith than Shattenkirk. We don't have the players for this system. You need a loaded roster like the 2011 Canucks/2014 Rangers for it to function properly.
 
I missed tonight's game, it was my rehearsal dinner.

Tomorrow night is my wedding.

The next 10 days I will be in the Caribbean on my honeymoon. Wow, things will probably change BIG TIME by the time I am back from my honeymoon. This board will either be in disaster tank mode or we will be on a streak (hopefully) and everything will be fine. We will need AV to pull his head out of his butt to do that though. Either way, I'll still be right back here.


Anyway, how was tonight's game. It seems we can't score. That's not good. How was Hank?

Think we are seeing the last of AV boys.

His coaching has been unacceptable this season. Those D pairings alone are a disgrace. Need scoring and you bench ADA? And put Holden on the top pair? WHAT?

DD should be playing 6 minutes on the 4th line a game but hes on the 3rd line and having PP time? WHAT?

I've been a supporter of him for the most part over the last few years, but i'm sorry he decisions are costing us games early on this season. We need EVERY point and he is throwing them away.
 
This team is bad. I know its early but I have zero hope. If were not making the playoffs then i'd rather get a top 5 pick than a top 14 pick. Needs to get figured out within the next month
 
pretty decent first two period but really bad third period. Forwards got too fancy and almost no one was going to the net. constant turnovers. Lines don't have much going.

Team needs to figure out its "identity" and soon. For all the talk of "need to go north south" they spend way too much time going east west
