Man this team has been one of the most dominant I've seen in a long time. Then again been watching mostly canes hockey for the last decade.

They've graduated and lost too many players the last 2 seasons to be as good as they were. Good problem for the NHL team, not so good for the AHL. At least most of the prospects down in the AHL now are going to get a lot of minutes rather than being blocked by AAAA journeymen types.

That and lots of new guys means time to gel and form chemistry. Was disappointing they came out and just dominated the first 15 min or so of the game and then completely forgot how to hockey for the next 45. Plus baby Tim Peel out there

Checkers IMO should be just fine. Just a lot of departures and replacements to fit in, plus new ELC guys completely rookie to the AHL game.

If Sellgren didn't go back to Sweden I imagine that Checkers defense would still be really good, and they still probably will be pretty good.
