I think we’d fall somewhere in the top-5 league wide.

The top 3 prospects are exceptional - each looking like they’ll be impact players in the NHL with the potential for true offensive stars in Demidov and Hutson and an all-minutes top pairing RD in Reinbacher.

4-6 have very clear NHL upside and the potential to play at the top of a lineup or as a starting goalie.

7-10 have clear routes to the NHL and defined roles to excel in. Each of them are on track to deliver as second pairing or middle-6 players.

The rest of the pool (11-20) is where we really stand out though. Absolutely exceptional depth that would rival some of our top-10s in previous years. There’s size, grit, skill, late bloomers, national team and pro players, guys at all different stages of development, and just a lot to like.

1. Demidov
2. Hutson
3. Reinbacher
4. Hage
5. Fowler
6. Mailloux
7. Roy
8. Beck
9. Engstrom
10. Kapanen

HMs:
Farrell
Heineman
Xhekaj
Volokhin
Mesar
Eriksson
Konyushkov
Dobes
Koivu
Rohrer

It mean nothing? How many chance did Yakupov got before GM give up on him? Ranking does matter. Yakupov has still the best prospect until he started to play in the NHL. You are free to do all the prospect ranking you want to do.

All I said has that until Reinbacher play 2 full seasons in the NHL. I will still put him above Hutson in the ranking. Scout can make mistake. The chance of making a mistake is still lower in the top 10 vs second round pick.

Correct it means nothing at all. Rankings do not matter, not one bit. How can they?

The point wasn't really about if Yakupov was their best prospect or not, the point is he was a 1st OA who ended up one of the biggest busts in NHL history yet by your logic because he was picked higher he should be ranked higher when in fact rankings should have nothing to do with where you were picked.

I know we overrate our prospects but it's crazy that you can go 10-12 deep and still have guys who seem like certain NHLers. Can't remember a prospect pool even close to this in my lifetime. Need to start making room for these guys.

we're so far away from the days where we felt good about like 1-3 prospects at having a chance (2012-2020 drafts)

god the ptsd is so strong

not all are gonna become legit NHLers but there's something positive we're seeing so far with hutson and slaf etc.

Agreed about the PTSD. The words "Omaha Lancers" and "Minnesota High School" caused instant thousand mile stare for many
