Speculation: New Threads

Correct. They are pretty close to this. The just extend the yellow waist stripe to the bottom of the jersey and its pretty bang on
Finally! I still cringe at watching those games from 1996 - 2006. Those jerseys were awful. Going from those classic (clean) Boston Garden uniforms to the Fleetcenter monstrosities, it was never the same. I felt like the Bruins were an expansion team. It definitely got better in 2007 but I still couldn't get into the white away jersey's with the black shoulder yokes. Even the striping was not correct on those jersey's.

I'm hoping for the best with the new release. Hoping that we get the same socks used from 74 - 95.

I think the major criticism that many had about these last season was the gold from the wrist to the elbow?

I wonder if that returns.
In the original version of these (the 1974-95 ones), the white jerseys had black from wrist to forearm (not quite all the way to the elbow, but that huge gold patch on the sleeves and the number/name fonts made me think I was watching the Penguins in the Centennial game.

The Bruins were moving to a "modern" new arena and the jerseys seemed very 1990s. A bit over-decorated, extra borders added to "enhance" the spoked-B, the Flyers-style alternate-colored sleeve stripes going all the way from the shoulder to the wrist. They looked like an AHL team or an expansion team, not an Original 6 one. I own one - a white blank I found while in Montreal (of all places) on my honeymoon, but of the many Bruins jerseys I have in the rotation, that's the one I almost never wear. They were definitely a product of their time and looked very dated very quickly. The uniforms they've worn the last 18 years (and the ones they're going to) are classic, clean looks that are befitting an Original 6 team.

So down for this as long as it's the original version and not the crappy remixed centennial game ones from last season.

Those legit looked like knock off Penguins jerseys.

Absolutely love it. Been clamoring for the Neely era jerseys for ages. Aesthetic gold.

I have to wonder if other presentational changes are coming alongside this - i.e. goal horn/song, lighting effects, music or videos played for introductions, etc.

I love Zombie Nation and associate it very strongly with the Bruins' 2010s heyday, but it's been the goal song since at least 2001-2002 if my memory serves me well, which is a long ass time in this business.

I like the jersey's but unless major changes are made to the team this is putting perfume on a pig.

Collars have been bad on NHL jerseys for a while now.
Yes.

The Blackhawks are an atrocity, as are the Islanders dark.

However, they could easily use the Islanders light template and do a solid gold collar on the black and a solid black collar on the white.

Yea thats why the 2007 Jerseys hit so well, IMO

EDIT: My timeline is off, I forgot Chara wore the fleet center jerseys for a year, but it wad with Dave Lewis so it was still bad.
He sure did.

They mothballed Pooh that season and wore the 1972 sweaters as alternates.

I snagged a Z at the pro shop opening night against the flames!

(Sports uniforms are my absolute obsession. I can go year by year and bore you to tears about the tweaks the Bruins and Patriots have made to their unis)

Kind of OT, but I have this jersey I bought in 2004, got on the bandwagon before it was cool. Always get a comment when I wear it.

I wore my Tecmo Bowl tank top to the Fisher Cats game yesterday, and got some good feedback.

Represent.
Was the Phish army out in full force yet? Friend of mine went to the show at the SNHU and I went out with him before hand and dropped him off around six and it was crazy.

Oh and to keep on topic the 70-71 jersey or any jersey that pays tribute to that look is still my favorite. The Neely/Bourque era ones are a close second.

Not only that, but he was introduced at his press conference with the old fleet center era jersey with #44 on it because he hadn't bought off Hannu Toivonen for #33 yet. By the time the season started Toivonen switched to #54 and Chara got #33

Oh yeah.

They had Elm St. blocked off.

I grew up in Manch and we just moved back last week.

It’s been 6 years. Crazy how much/how little has changed.
