This is... ugly.
I know the odds are that is the typical "RR slow-start that dooms us from contention," likely to be followed by the just-as-predictable "period of reasonable competence that keeps us from a top-5 pick," but there's a part of me that hopes this whole thing really just falls apart.
Maybe the new regime doesn't need an excuse to blow the whole thing up, but if this season really toilets, they won't have a choice.
Sweet Jesus, would I love to see an honest-to-goodness real, professional talent-evaluation and acquisition operation in place, informed by a smart, competent coaching staff with a clear plan of what they want to implement and the kind of personnel they need to do so.
I know, I know. But life without a dream really isn't "life," now, is it?
I think that's going to happen. It's what Harris does. DC is currently set up to be as bare bones as possible so Dan could have maximum influence. That's dead now.
