Truly intrigued at which way the Rubicon has been crossed here.

Heck, this might be an indication that maybe MLS was serious about starting a rival women’s league. This is definitely one way to thwart that. MLS has spent many kilojoules of energy trying to not hew to world standards. This is a shot across their bow more than anything.

Athletes talk to each other. I know it’s easy to think that this threatens the league more than the standard. But soccer fans do accept this and I do not doubt that some staying power will be achieved. I may not bet on a wave generated from this that sweeps through other American leagues, but I can see how it happens.
