You think that letting employees wear what they want with a shirt is going to be less hipster than wearing uniforms?

Uniforms are an integral part of the professional workforce. For many of the people whom are employed by McD, it is their first foyer into the professional world. It instills professionalism and holds people accountable. Letting them do basically whatever they wanted in such a global establishment would be a total mistake. Adhering and abiding by the uniform code is an important function of the job.

Yes, I'm sure businessmen will start closing multimillion dollar deals at McDonald's now.

Another **** poor branding decision by McDonald's. You are McDonald's, not Taco Bell or Starbucks. People go to McDonald's for a predictable meal, not for some hipster meal. Give employees some leeway. Jeans and a McDonald's t-shirt is fine. Why ****ing waste money on uniforms.

I imagine a uniform is also beneficial in an environment where you're handing food all the time.

They are just tshirts and pants uniforms, but I do agree it's terrible rebrand. Stick with the Golden Arches.
The picture posted seems to be more of a glamour shoot, and the other pictures are plain shirts with the mini M on the chest. Just missed the ball on the colors.
