So Nick Shore were brought in under what reason?

Probably is about money.

The Kings wanted him to leave school early, he probably said he would only do it if he was guaranteed a spot on the roster for the rest of this season.

It happens quite a bit with college players, smart move on his part to pocket a few bucks. He is a good prospect but far from a sure thing.

If we don't win tomorrow, I'm gonna be scared as crap going into the playoffs.

AND we'll have to play the Canucks, no?
Yuck. Hope these guys want to play like underdogs!

- If the Kings lose in regulation they will finish 6th and face the Canucks.

- If the Kings lose in OT/SO the best they can finish is 5th — with a Blues regulation loss.

Ahh right. Thanks Puck. Forgot there's like 15 different scenarios. Guess it beats being in the Wild's shoes.

Overreacting in a Kings related thread? I am shocked!

BURN THE BOATS

Don't like these at all. We need Kopi to shoot more, putting him with Carter won't address that. Also, that second line looks AWFUL. Sutter's fascination with Dwight King is starting to make me feel ill

Well, at least Sutter split up Kopitar and Richards. Those two are useless together as neither one of them shoot enough.

Sutter does this every now and again, especially when the team is playing poorly and not the typical "KINGS/Sutter" hockey we grew accustom to in the Playoffs ...

to try and reinforce his "it's not WHO you play with but HOW you play" mantra to try and get the guys playing simple hockey ...

just play like we've practiced 100 x's before, and don't try to get cute or fancy ... north/south , cycle around the corners behind the net , take the body and finish your checks , etc.

Unfortunately it seems as if the guys aren't DOING that just now, hopefully it's just a bump in the road and they can turn it on once the playoffs start ... we'll see. :dunno:

=====================================

Also, if you look at them like THIS ...

#13 Kyle Clifford - #11 Anze Kopitar ‘A’ - #77 Jeff Carter
#25 Dustin Penner - #28 Jarret Stoll - #14 Justin Williams
#74 Dwight King - #10 Mike Richards - #22 Trevor Lewis
#73 Tyler Toffoli - #15 Brad Richardson - #71 Jordan Nolan

They don't look that out of whack ... Cliffy in for Brown, Carter & Williams swap, Stoll and Richards swap, and Toffoli in ... meh, not as doom and gloom as one would READ from you guys here ... lol :)

I agree. It's becoming obvious that Kopitar needs someone physical on his line to make some room for him.

The other thing I like is trying to get Clifford more confidence.

I at least see some Dustin Brown is Cliffy's game and think he could be a poor man's Dustin Brown if given the chance. When looking at their style of play and their development they share a lot of similarity's. Brown being more talented offensively but not by that large a margin.

Anyways, when the playoffs roll into place next week, I'd personally like to see Clifford on the 3rd line with Stoll and Lewis ... Dwight King is doing absolutely nothing to belong there, and IMO King's game at the moment is better suited to the 4th line, and he and Nolan seem to feed off of each other and work well together, Doesn't matter much if it's Richardson or Frazer centering that line, I guess Richardson if you need more speed and Frazer if you need more grit. But roll 3 lines that can maybe score, and the 4th line of BIG Bodies to bang and crash.

IMO, Sutter is trying to bring back the spark and impact that the King-Richards-Nolan line had last season. Except, Lewis is in for Nolan because it seems like Nolan has been in Sutter's doghouse the whole season. I actually like these lines. Every line can produce goals and every line has speed. Curious to see where Brown slots back in when he comes back.

It would be sweet if Clifford could transform into the Playoff beast that he was a few years ago during the Sharks series.

Clifford-Richardson-Simmonds was a beastly playoffs line a couple years ago. I'm hoping a combo of one our bottom 6 players can fly under the radar and perform in a similar fashion. I could see Lewis and maybe even Richardson do pretty well, Clifford/Nolan too...

If Clifford had Brown's hands he would be better than Brown. Clifford needs to work on his scoring touch and stick handling this off season. Only way I know he can do that is by shooting a lot of pucks and working a lot of stick handling drills.

I don't think he will ever dangle like Brown does, but it would be nice if he could make a stick handle or two when he is in close and get the puck up into the upper portion of the net where a lot of goals are scored.

What about like this:

#14 Justin Williams - #11 Anze Kopitar ‘A’ - #77 Jeff Carter
#25 Dustin Penner - #10 Mike Richards - #73 Tyler Toffoli

Did I do it right?

Williams is a RW not LW. For something close to that to work you have to move Penner up Williams over to RW Carter down to center on second Richards to RW.
