Virtually every successful line in NHL history has a skater/passer, a shooter and a guy who opens up da ice for his buddies.. like Bruins -- Pasta skater/shooter/skill, Berge skater/passer/forecheck and Marchand skater/shooter/forecheck/skill and who is da pest and gets in on forecheck with speed and puts his body in risky situations for his line mates .. it works for them as they are a little unusual with 3 skating/skill guys but it works as Bergey/Marchand both get in our forecheck and fight for loose pucks .. Pasta stays high and waits for pass .. hard in CAP era to have 3 guys who can skate with skill all together though and Bruins did it with hard negotiating which is their trademark .. but they can be pushed around and I think you will see more of it this year with Nick/Chara gone .. Pasta can get intimidated with a big hit .. Marchand is easily provoked and can go nuts at any time and take penalties .. Berge is cool and keeps line intact but he will slow down at some point soon enough and da line will suffer greatly

Marchand is the highest producer on and offensive catalyst of the Bruins, not the "puck retriever".

He retrieves more loose pucks than anyone on Bruins on any line .. pure and simple .. combination of courage, edge work, speed and core strength .. he also takes most hits of any forward on team too

He looked fast playing predominantly against 4th liners.
I think Spezza himself has also asked for not too high of a workload and made an agreement when he signed to not play back to backs. Honestly I think fourth line duty and PP time maximises his abilities, but what I would like to see more is shifts playing with our top 6 if we need to spark something in a game / need to push for a comeback.

Marchand is the best winger in the league. He`s not the most skilled, so there must be more to it....
His game eye is so sharp.... he truly know what to do to win sire. Everythang corretly. He reads the game so perfectly, so does bergeron, but marchand in more different ways. He even knows when to clip, lik and twerk on people. Bergeron does everythang else. No wonder they is legends for life. That line name.. the Perfect line doesn't come from emptyness milord.

Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
Ritchie - Tavares - Marner
Kase - Kerfoot - Mikheyev
Kampf - Spezza - Simmonds
I like that shit sire. Hard. We gots to use our new thugs hard.... both of them pests, who hit suckas straight to the nose. Bang, and gong. Bungting and Ritchie must be used to protect our star dolls. Hard. In every shift. You placed them real hard right thurr.

I didn’t realize there were so many experts on this board pencilling in Bunting on the first line. A player I guarantee 99% of this board didn’t know existed before we signed him.

In what galaxy is he a first line player? Is 10 goals really all it takes or is that all our broke ass team could afford?

I wonder if maybe this year Nylander or Marner could play on their off wing and you could have that dream three headed monster line permanently? All of them seem to be at their peak and are pretty solid defensively. Play those guys together and have a second line of Ritchie, Tavares and Ho Sang maybe? Play Rielly-Brodie exclusively with the top pair and have Holl-Muzzin back up the Tavares line. Let Bunting earn it and see where the rest of the pieces fit.

It's not about Bunting being a true 1st liner, but about how he might compliment the other players.

Ho Sang probably won’t make it on the starting lineup no matter how well he does. Doubt he gets the opportunity. So maybe

Nylander-Matthews-Marner
Ritchie-Tavares -Kerfoot
Bunting-Kampf-Kase
Mikheyev-Spezza-Simmonds

somebody good is going to be cut from the forwards. Where do you fit these new guys who are signed to term?

Any health reports on Kase? If he is healthy he would be a huge boost to the top-9 and roster flexibility.
