Says it all with the confidence they have on Tokarski. They prefer taking the chance to burn Condon than to let Tokarski in.

We know Price is supposed to meet with the doctors today, the waiting to last minute to decide who'll be in nets probably has a lot to do with what comes out of that meeting. If the news is positive (back within 2 weeks) then they won't mind starting Condon again tonight because he'll only have a few more games to play after this one anyway. On the other hand, if Tokarski starts it most likely means the Doctor told them that Price will be out for a very long time so they'll want to give Condon the night off because he'll be seeing a lot of action in the immediate future.
