Next season Fitz has quite the work to do. Most of the bottom 6 should be entirely different players & most of them are free agents. I'm also adding in a top 6 winger or in a ideal world a top 6 center/winger hybrid. Palat and even Noeson should be out the top 6. Fitz also needs to figure out if he intends to keep Mercer a center or if he is going back to winger next year. If he's back to winger then we also need a 3rd line center. Don't forget if Fitz plans on trading for a top 6 player there's a possibility Mercer is included. If we make 0 trades & walk into FA as we are this is how we're looking at the moment for next year.

Honestly would like to see one of Palat or Haula out. I know two is too much to ask for.
Haula on the 4th line is fine if he's here though. I think I'd rather move on from Palat.
Haula's got to go. He's less of a problem than Palat and would be a "fine" 4th liner but you can't be paying over 3 mil to a 4th liner. He also shouldn't be that hard to dump with limited protections and only 3.15. Use that money on a good 3rd liner instead. Beyond that swap and inserting Gritsyuk there's really not much that can be done besides the 4th line without dumping at least one of Palat or Dougie to clear up some room.
I was hoping to see Casey at forward for a game for the hell of it.
Playing him at 2 different positions isn't a wise move. The guy is a defensman and will learn that position. The only thing he lack's is size but we have seen smaller defensmen do fine in the NHL. Playing him at forward would have to be a last ditch move to save his NHL career or so if he can't hack it as a Dman.Once Hamilton is playing I’d have Casey taking shifts at right wing. Against bottom six opponents I think he’s be succesful and he can rotate in on defense as well.

How he can play as a forward in the NHL is something I would like to see somehow, though.
Yeah thats the only hope. When they have to turn it on, they do. They can’t play like the 22-23 team because they are so far from that. They have to play that shutdown, heavy checking style that has to win through structure, special teams and goaltending. And nonstop effort shift after shift. So I am not surprised with how they are playing since they clinched. Theres no need to play that style before the playoffs with having nothing to play for. Problem is, this roster as constructed, cannot win in any other fashion. So it is what it is and is a continuity of the frustrating 2025.Really thought the team turned a corner somewhat after the win against the Rangers and would finish the season strong before the playoffs.
Such a weird feeling I have about this team right now. Hopefully they prove me wrong.
As @NjDevsRR has mentioned, they have showed up in big moments this year. Hopefully it can be replicated.
It felt like an exhibition game the rock. Zero emotion in the stands. No one was mad or happy. I think that sums it up pretty well lol. They are clearly just looking to the first round and getting through this stretch with no injuries or fatigue.I missed this one, what’s the Readers Digest version of what happened ?
So did they. Uninspired, nobody seemed to care, Cotters going to get a suspension probably. Just pointless, a forfeit would've been better.I missed this one, what’s the Readers Digest version of what happened ?
PK was great though in the second. Killed a 5 minute powerplay with no goals against. Stuff like that can be momentum changers in the postseason. They need their goaltending and special teams to be the x factorI missed this one, what’s the Readers Digest version of what happened ?
What happened was they mailed in another ho-hum who cares effort and almost sleep walked through the whole game ..... disgustingI missed this one, what’s the Readers Digest version of what happened ?
If Casey wants to stay on the big club he may not have a choice but to play forward a little. As it stands right now look at our current RDs. Hamilton, Pesce, Kovy, Nemec, Casey. Out of these players theres a 95% probability one is getting traded during the offseason. It's probably Nemec just based on the fact he would bring back the biggest package. But it also wouldn't shock me at all if it was Hamilton. It would make the most sense to move on from him from a roster building perspective. Trade him & let Casey/Nemec battle it out. The downside with that move is if Casey beats out Nemec say goodbye to Nemecs trade value. But even if we traded someone, there's still no room for Casey on RD because we have 3 players filling the roles. During this time he will either have to become so good on defense that it warrants playing him over proven veterans on multi year deals or he will have to adjust roles. That's where he can come in and be a winger if all the d-men are healthy. I would look at Casey & try to forge him into a offensive powerhouse defenseman/winger hybrid. If everyone is healthy you throw him into the top 9. I guarantee he provides a huge boost.Playing him at 2 different positions isn't a wise move. The guy is a defensman and will learn that position. No matter who you were cheering for - nobody saw those final holes playing out how they did. That has to be the worst final round by a winner without having weather to blame. Just unreal the rollercoaster ride that round was.Just got home from the game, put on the tv to watch my guy Rory win the Masters…

The worst And yet some of the best long iron shots you will ever see in that spot. Incredible by Rory but also insane blunders haha. I am happy for the guy though. He has a lot of folks cheering against him for how the entire LIV golf fiasco went down.
Do you think this was because they didn't like my gdt
I think the intent was pretty obvious.Ridiculous, honestly. There was zero intent and it was such a bang bang play. The 5 major was enough IMO.
There were plenty worse hits/infractions this season that got zero review from the league.
