Pretty unprofessional to not give any effort at home, regardless of the situation, IMO. If you’re worried about injuries, then sit your most important players. People still pay hard earned money and use up their personal time to watch the team play. I also don’t see how it’s a good thing to half ass your game when you’re trying to prepare for the playoffs and you’re a heavy underdog.

Yup, absolutely.

Pissed for the fans (myself included) that wasted time going to this one. I get being laid back, but this was a bit too much. Couldn't give a flying f*** for the 16000 fans that showed up today

I dont think ive seen a lazier game in the history of going live. Preseason effort is being kind.

That was light practice effort

Anyone - how are the playoffs games handled for the TV coverage? Do we get them on MSG at all?

Ya, it'll be like 2023. We'll get Bill and Dano with the games that they make national TV games. I assume the first Devils home game will be national televised if it's slated on the weekend.

I don’t understand how we can be so inept at scoring 5v5 when we’ve been rebuilding for so long.

Probably has something to do with Fitz drafting Mercer and no other regular forwards since taking over.
He has to recognize this in the offseason.

It's been a recurring problem all year. These 1-0, 2-0 losses (3-0 with an empty net) have happened even in November and December.

And it comes down to more than just fixing the bottom 6 or acquiring new bottom 6 guys.

Palat playing with Jack and Bratt needs to be a thing of the past. Palat was/is playing with guys all year on pace for about 90 points and is producing at like a 31 point pace.

AND he's also gonna score fewer goals than this next year. I think this was his highest shooting percentage year by a significant amount maybe ever, at least when I looked a couple weeks back this was the case.

Also hate that Dillon is here for 2 more years @ $4 million, while Dumo is moving on and will make even less than Dillon next year, if I had to guess. But now I'm trailing off of just talking about the offense.

That really was uninspired. I get not wanting anyone hurt, but getting stuck at 89 points and still no guarantee of a > 500 finish at this point is really crappy. The Isles are a bad team, this is MORE points against BAD teams that we've left on the table. Over 10 at this point, easily. We should be tied with Carolina or within a game of them. That's the one difference between our teams - they never give up and two goals down is nothing to them. Bad teams eventually are overcome.

Looking forward to Douglas getting a game in. I just can’t handle Nemec or Casey in this current juncture
I'd like to see Casey, but I'd take Dougie in over him for the playoffs any day.

I'd almost rather see Chow in over Nemec at this point. I'm hoping we just saw the Nemec swan song as a Devil, or that we at least will in a couple of days.

I like Casey too but not before a playoff series. He needs some more growth and right now isn’t the time

Just shit vibes, exactly the kind of thing you don't want to propagate a week before you’re playing in the post-season.

Then people clutch their pearls when I say this team is not likable.
