We will see completely different energy vs Canes in terms of physicality and Dzone structure. We have seen it all season by the Devils when it matters most. If you think they have been trying to play that way since they clinched then you are not paying attention. No need to play that way at this current juncture. This roster will only be competitive when they play balls to the wall with a heavy forecheck and strong board play. There is zero reason to expend that kind of energy right now. This isn’t the 22-23 team where they can clown teams with their skating and talent. This team isn’t built that way. It’s built to be a heavy team. You will see that again next weekend.

(For the record, we need more speed and talent but thats an offseason discussion)

Continuing on this…

Keefe and company 100% know our chances vs Canes. It will be hard. Judging from his comments over the last week, the teams play, and how the Devils are locked in playing for nothing, Devils are clearly reserving energy.

Rest + our April schedule may be an advantage for us vs a Canes team that always skates 100% no matter what. I reckon they are hedging their bets on being rested, Markstrom and their special teams to have a chance in round 1.
