The Rangers need to look back to the last game they played against the Lightning in the regular season and won 6-3 if I'm not mistaken. They played with skill and grit in a hard-fought game with the Lightning. That was a performance that gave me hope the team could do some damage in the playoffs.

Games 1 and 2 were good but the Devils were also not at their best. With the exception of Igor, I have yet to see the Rangers show that they really want the cup. They can't continue to play this tentative, slow-paced style unless they're able to execute with max precision. There's just very little margin for error against a fast team like the Devils who can (and have) taken advantage of bad passes and poor shot selection (or non-selection).

Kane is not the problem. He's a complementary piece along with Vlad. This team will ultimately go as far as Panarin, Mika, Krider, Fox and Igor go. Igor has showed up. Fox and Krider showed up during the first two games while Mika was able to contribute on defense. However, there comes a point where getting the puck in the back of the net trumps everything else. Panarin seriously needs to get on the same page as the rest of the team in terms of passing. Nobody seems to know where to be when someone else has the puck and unfortunately Mika/Panarin are not able to put the team on their backs and will them to victory.

This Rangers team feels like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. The passing is atrocious and too much puck watching instead of anticipating where the puck needs to be. Credit the Devils for playing tight defense because the Rangers don't know how to properly crash the net or make decisions quick enough to get through.

Also have to add that the Kid Line and KAM are not adding any meaningful element of change of pace/X-Factor. Maybe a little from Kakko but Laf looks nothing like the way he played last year when he was checking hard everything that moved.

The offense trying to move the puck up the ice is painful to watch. Would it kill them to try and work together?

Surprised he was pulled today, but he'll be back for Game 7. Someone on the Rangers board posted something to the effect of "the fact that the Rangers couldn't score with 5 minutes of an empty net shows you how good NJ's goaltending has had to be," and I largely agree. The Devils have been the better 5-on-5 team all series, and it hasn't been close.

I don't think the Rangers are in this at all without Igor. He'll need to channel his Game 7 Lundqvist Monday for them to even have a chance. Devils will be heavy favorites at Prudential Center. I'm just glad my boys made it this far. Let's see what happens.

I have absolutely no clue how game 7 will go.

Maybe NJ wins a close one
Maybe NYR wins a close one

Wouldn't be shocked if either team won in a blowout.

Most unpredictable series from game to game in years. Momentum has meant nothing.

The winner should beat Carolina. Will likely have an advantage over Flor/Tor

Eh, Bruins will still win that series I feel.

Fox and Kreider vs NJ.

Can't even say Shesterkin in a certain respect. He was good in the losses.
He's allowed 11 goals in 6 games. He's been our best player, and we would be out right now without him.

Don't get misled by the 5-goal wins. Those games would be radically different without Igor stopping the Devils' scoring chances, which have been far better than our own at 5v5 all series.

seeing devils -115 rangers -105 which is basically a pickem - slight tilt for the home ice. doesn't mean all that much in terms of what happens and will move between now and gametime, but neither team going in a heavy favorite. if a series goes 7 though it's already clear enough you got two teams who are pretty evenly matched, comes down to best of 1.

Didn't say he wasn't great, just that he hasn't been able to make a difference. His performances in the wins and losses have been the same.

He made a difference last night. If a couple of those NJ chances had gone in this series might be done.

Shesterkin's been our most reliable player throughout the series.

I apparently voted for the Rangers to take it in 7 but right now I hope the Devils can take this series home on home ice.
Heh heh ... I picked NJ in six ... ah well.

He’s the best player on the team dude.

Shesterkin's been our most reliable player throughout the series.

His point is that Shesty had been good in every game, including the losses. The difference between the Rangers winning and losing has been because other players have stepped up in those games.

That doesn't in any way discredit what Shesty has done. If he has a poor game, the Rangers almost certainly will lose. But even at his best, the Rangers will probably have to score more than 1 goal to win.

The difference is that without him, the Rangers are already eliminated

I don't think NJ wins game 1 or 2 no matter what, it was not even close. Even last night did not matter. I felt the only game he made a difference was game 5 which may have been 9-0 without him
