This is a major factor that contributes to the idiotic **** I've seen on this board and twitter.

Fire Deboer
Trade players for picks and rebuild
Lou needs to retire
Ride a rookie goalie the rest of the year

Spoiled, impatient, pouting children. It's pathetic.

i have not seen one person say ride a rookie goalie rest of the year, but i think they want just 1 start so don't put words in peoples mouthes

and if they tank they should absolutely try and trade some vets, we have given up lots of picks in recent yrs need to get some back in fact we gave a 5th and 7th for poni :) .....debeor earned his position for this season and next as far as im concerned so i agree with you,,, lou speaks for himself he is the best all time

My thoughts exactly

Ilya Kovalchuk said:
: “We can’t play like that. We’ve got to put a little more will there, a little more effort. We give too many rebounds to them. They just walk in and Moose he can just stop so much.”

Peter DeBoer said:
: "We’ve got to find a way and I know it’s in that dressing room and we’ve just got to get everyone to have a good performance on the same night."

Zajac and Ponikarovsky were pathetic tonight.

I'm getting really sick of the same quotes every single night.

kinda was more fun counting "ya knows" from maclean. why would you even listed to player interviews, nothing ever relevant will ever get said. your gonna get the standard company line.

tomorrow is gonna be the first time i really start to be pissed off at debeor if moose is garbage.

My opinion on Lou infuriates you, but you think Pete is on the hot seat? That's what I got out of your last post. You said it's like Pete is trying to see what he can get away with starting Hedberg?

I didn't mean it like that and I was mostly joking with that comment about Petey. I don't want him fired at all and this is just a slump IMO. But partially yes, the fact that people (not just you) think that Lou has not tried to make this team better as if they are in the office with him. Once again, for all we know, as just fans of this team, Lou has done everything in his power to make a deal or sign a player to make this team better but it didn't work out. Unless someone works for the Devils on these boards that wants to step forward and tell me otherwise that's what I will continue to believe. Can I fault Lou on other things? Yes, for sure. But saying that he has done a poor job because he hasn't made any deals is something I won't do because that would be pure speculation on my part.

As far as DeBoer goes, a coach choosing to play his veteran goalie during a losing streak over rookies who have proven nothing when we currently are hanging on to a playoff spot, to me, is just not a fireable offense.

Do I completely agree with DeBoer here? Not necessarily, but I can see both sides of the argument here. It's not as black and white as some of you are making it.

the other thing people have to remember....this team really doesn';t have much to trade.. we have about 7 to 10 contracts that are no trade or just untouchable because they are way too high

we have zero young forwards worth a **** in the farm. so what the hell are we gonna trade to bring any value back? this organization from years of winning combined with overpaying in trades to make playoff runs is pretty much bone dry on prospects and really have been for sometime....

Why do fans think the players/coach are going to give them quotes that cater to their concerns?

Deboer isn't going to get up there and say Moose sucks, all of our top offensive players suck right now and our defensive coverage is absolutely god awful.

If you're looking for quotes calling people out you're going to be waiting for a long time. The real issues will be discussed behind closed doors and in practice.

Truth is they once again let Moose hang out to dry, the effort in the defensive zone is just not there. We can't score ? Big deal, We're the Devils and winning games with 3 goals scored shouldn't be impossible for us. We lost tonight because twe didn't play sound defensively, I'm so gutted by their effort in the defensive zone, it hurts my stomach.

And it's about time to stop giving up the 1st goal everytime, 9 games in a row, WTF is that ???

From the team or on here? Seems like it's a problem both areas :sarcasm:

Pick your poison.

People have been spinning a wheel of things to complain about. I guess we landed on "Kovy at RW" tonight.

Tomorrow afternoon, we'll land on Zajac's contract. Maybe tomorrow night we'll move onto Zidlicky's defense. If Salvador plays, I'll bet the house it's his captaincy, but we're do for a "Hedberg sucks" too. Then again there's Volchenkov's puck skills, DeBoer's coaching, Lamoriello's building, have 8 d-men, drafting Matteau, Shaw's PP, our PK, why Semin isn't a Devil, what plane Dany Heatley is on, why Kinkaid isn't starting, and eventually why we drafted Tedenby over Carlson.

Does that cover it?

I think our center depth would be absolutely horrible.

That's what I was worrying about. When Zubrus returned we'd probably have to move Elias to center. But lines would look pretty good:

Kovy-Elias-Perry
Zubrus-Henrique-Clarkson
Carter-Loktionov-Bernier
Ponikarovsky-Gionta-Kostopoulos

It's going to get ugly tomorrow night if we give up the first. I'm looking forward to being there

I don't mind taking 1 step back this year in order to solidify a more promising future. As far as I'm concerned, nearly everyone should be on the block. But like you said there are some major contract obstacles. But I wouldn't lose sleep about trading Andy Greene or Clarkson, not because they aren't valuable but because right now this organization is in dire need of young, talented forwards, whether that's stockpiling picks or plundering another org.

I find it funny the people on here who claim to be "realists" when they talk about this team being garbage and they are going nowhere, and Lou is not a good GM, and so on and so on.

A realist would recognize that not every free agent wants to sign here. A realist would recognize that having a playoff team every year for nearly 20 years is pretty unlikely, much less having a legit chance to win the Cup every year, and as such would not turn into a pouty crybaby the few times that the team struggles.
