Apparently they're in a legit dressing room now........ That has windows to outside.......

That's real high school gymnasium level shit. I think I'd rather have that temporary locker room in the curtained off space.
Is that just a practice facility though with the windows?

Apparently it's a 5000 seat arena.

I guess it was originally for the college hockey team, but that dumb franchise that makes the Panthers and Karmanos Hurricanes look well-run had nowhere else to go.

There was a rumor last year that they might have to play games at Chase Field where the Diamondbacks play, which would have been kind of cool. The Lightning used to play at Tropicana Field before their arena in Tampa was built, but that was before the Rays existed.

They must have finished the dressing room construction for the arena.

Should be a very intimate game with the 5,000 capacity and the like 3,000 people actually in attendance. :sarcasm:

One of the DUMBEST phrases in hockey and most generic and just WTF, pointless, not sure what the f*** it means phrases is ''We're playing some real *INSERT TEAM NAME* HOCKEY!''

And it's very DUMB, unless you got a team that plays a certain type of style and game and has been playing it for years and even had a lot of success with it.

I understand back in the 80's if the Oilers said ''We're playing Edmonton Oilers hockey'' or the 70's Canadiens said ''We're playing Montreal Canadiens hockey'' or even the Devils in our decade of dominance ''That's New Jersey Devils hockey''.

But I see players every so often and they'll ask what they need to do to win the game and they'll say ''We need to play Arizona Coyotes hockey''. And that BLOWHARD Tyson Nash when he gets very excited over a Coyotes goal, I've heard him say ''THAT'S ARIZONA COYOTES HOCKEY!''

What the f*** is Arizona Coyotes hockey? Acquiring a bunch of either permanently injured retired players or just plain retired players that were once very good or hall of famers?

''Yeah, we once owned Datsyuk, Hossa, Pronger. We even owned a bunch of them at the same time!''.

What is Arizona Coyotes hockey? Because I don't think playing ''Arizona Coyotes hockey'' is anything that one would aspire to play or mimic when you see the lack of success of that franchise. That's probably why Shane Doan is a hall of famer over there, because he's one of the best players they've honestly ever had, that actually PLAYED there and there's not a whole lot to celebrate or remember. Wayne Gretzky's (DISASTROUS) lone NHL head coaching stint?

Watch, Carey Price will end up there next. They can have him and Shea Weber come out there and address the fans and talk about that time they played in the Stanley Cup Finals together in Montreal.

It’s still Arizona State’s arena for their team, the Coyotes just have a short term deal to also play there while they try to get an arena in Tempe.

Mullett Arena is brand new, but the Coyotes had to make additional renovations because the CBA and/or NHL have requirements for NHL facilities.

I always think one game, goal achievement, so today, for me, is an important Devils day. They beat Arizona and get 2 points, Carolina loses to TB and the Devils are tied, top of the heap. Must be a great feeling for every player and coach. Sure makes Fitz look like the smart GM that he is. MO

Sure makes me feel like an idiot not giving more respect to Fitz because this GM saw a vision that I didn't see for this season for the Devils. Hell I was hoping they just make the playoffs. That remains the same but now my Devils thoughts run wild in the playoffs. Don't screw this up Blackwood. MO

TB vs. Carolina is an early game we will know their results as will the Devils team before the Devils' game starts...Good thing.

Go Devils & TB
Tampa benched Stamkos, Kucherov and Point for the 3rd period last night so expect that team to come out fired up.

I'm looking forward to seeing Timo Time tonight!

I hope we come out flying, stomp on the gas, and drop double digits on the Coyotes.
yeah.

Devils can't mess around here.

Go there, stomp a mudhole in them, get the 2 points and get out.

And hope that TB and its stars who were benched are pissed off enough to give 110% effort against the Canes and beat them in regulation for us.

I'm not going to make fun of the Coyotes for playing in a college arena. After all, the Whalers used to play in the Civic Center Mall.

But I definitely reserve the right to make fun of them for being the league's dumping ground for bad contracts going on like 15 years now. That is an impressive record of futility.

Amazing GDT @Cheddabombs

I started the day off with a really great laugh!

But I just have one critique. There's not more shots taken at this worthless franchise or more of their HOF players name dropped.

What a stable hall of fame talent they've acquired over the years.

Marian Hossa, Chris Pronger, these are some pretty big f***in names. You got Shea Weber there right, as was already mentioned.

And hey! They even have Patrick Kane on their payroll or at least part of him.

I'm not sure what body parts their covering.

Taylor Hall was actually able to get on the ice for them 3 years ago, remember that one? And they beat Hiney Head and Nashville in the play-in round and they at least have that.

f*** this franchise, f*** Tyson Nash (it took me 3 minutes to remember that LOSER's last name) and f*** the rest of this loser franchise and their glorified public skating rink/gymnasium of an arena.

Oh and SHANE DOAN IS NOT A f***ING HALL OF FAMER! I don't care how much you love him there or how much of a buddy he is to you (that's for you blowhard Yandle) he ain't a hall of famer.

Yeah, maybe a hall of famer in the AHHOF. Him and f***in Auston Matthews might wind up being the only two members EVER. They can put it right in the hallway of the gymnasium they play in.

Can't wait for one of their lurking fans to laugh like this post in the horrifying event they beat us tonight.

I'll take solace in the fact that I've gotten to watch 3 Stanley Cups and at least have a chance to watch another before I die. Couldn't say that if I were a fan of that team. They're an embarrassment to the original Winnipeg Jets.

They don't need to relocate, they need to FOLD. GO DEFUNCT! END! Like the Cleveland Barons.

the barons didnt fold, they merged with the north stars

I know

But doesn't it still count as a defunct team?

There were also examples wayyyy back that went defunct but did not merge, so maybe I should use them in my example instead of the Barons.

They can merge with someone else for all I care. Keep the current owners and everybody involved in any aspect of their management away or the merged team will be the next team to end up as part of another merger lol.

Yeah, they're a joke for always taking on LTIR cap dumps and shit and then retaining some of Patrick Kane for the Rangers is truly Arizona Coyotes hockey.

But you have to figure because of inept people running things and ownership, that's why they're in a tiny college arena right now.

I'm not for relocation, but it's clear that they can't succeed there.

And it doesn't help that the product there sucks and it almost always has. It's almost always been run and owned by idiots.

They had a few really good years of Sean Burke that got them into the playoffs a bunch in their earlier years and inherited some okay guys from Winnipeg and Jeremy Roenick was a star they got there. And then the earlier Tippett years were successful, but even that 11-12 smoke and mirrors run was all Mike Smith, who was one of the best goalies in the league that season stealing them wins and facing A LOT of shots.

When Mike Smith regressed back to being just average, that was the end of that and they've been shit ever since, outside of the dumb covid playoff year, which I think we all kind of thought they weren't gonna make it if that season went 82 games.
