GDT: New Japan Thread - Life Post-Okada

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Ospreay/Omega was incredible. Didn't like Omega taking the bump into the guardrail and he may have landed on the edge of the table. No need for back bumps onto awkward surfaces after his year of recovery from injuries, well nine months but essentially a year. If the surface isn't flat then he doesn't need to land on/hit it with his back.

I saw she trademarked Mone and in my mind it was Mo-Nay, which is what the commentators were calling her, but the song was more Mun-eh like a potential slang for money. Time will tell however I don't believe she is a draw long term. I could see short term interest in her first post-WWE appearance(s) however that could quickly fizzle out. Who knows, I'm just some idiot on a keyboard.

I immediately thought of Kriss Kross too

Jay White supposedly signed an absurdly long deal whenever he did that, I don’t think he’s anywhere close to being a free agent. By the same token, we don’t know what the make-good is for letting Karl Anderson do the show instead of vacating the title.

You might be right that he's best off in Japan but I would definitely mark out if he shows up in the Rumble. Based on GKJs post above, it would likely only be a one off appearance but it'd still be cool to see.

Now SRS is saying Hikuleo might be going to WWE. So that match might actually be his send off.

But a one-off in the Rumble for White wouldn't surprise me either.

And it sounds like Jay White’s deal is up because time exists only to betray us.

At this point wouldn't be surprised if there's some shenanigans and *both* have to leave Japan. I really hope White goes to AEW, especially after this Vince, etc news.

As I said above once he leaves just retire BC unless he can continue to "lead" from AEW.

That seems like where Bullet Club is heading, Tama Tonga is out, Jay may be leaving. Who’s gonna lead it? KENTA? Taiji Ishimori?

ELP? I can't even think of anyone to turn. Except maybe turning Tama back, but they seem to be pushing him as a top face now.

God forbid it's EVIL and the HoT again like during COVID.

It makes sense to retire it, but if the merch train is still rolling they may not. Juice has still been rocking his BC gear in AEW and told the Dark Order he's Bullet Club, so maybe there's a small chance of White leading from AEW, but you still need representation at the top in Japan.

A lot of this is Mercedes saying how excited she is and saying the f word, often at the same time. But I enjoyed it. And the production quality is different from other vlogs.

They’re saying that’s the main event, although I think New Japan is promoting it as a double main event, because the other one is Okada vs. Tanahashi - a match they’ve always wanted to do in the US. But I’m guessing that Kairi and Mercedes are going 30 minutes.

Yeah, so, that was awesome.

Finisher done right looks cool as hell, but looks like it takes a lot from the opponent to do right.
