New goal song?

I saw this thread on Reddit so figured I’d pitch it here.

The Canucks were using Don’t You (Forget About Me) last year. While it’s a good song, it doesn’t strike me as the most exciting or fun song for the circumstances.

I propose (at 2:12):



-it’s fun and poppy enough to have mainstream appeal
-the lyrics are fitting
-the song just came out so no other team is using it

Hopefully they do something new for the regular season but I would suggest bringing "Holiday" back for the playoffs.

Breakfast Club was a great movie...but f*** that song sucks for hockey.

They skated out to this song a handful of times around 2012-2013. Good song, I just don’t know if it would land that well with the mainstream audience.

I previously proposed this for when the Canucks get a penalty.

For the goal song it should be another Vancouver band

I guess a goal song has to have mass market appeal, which usually means crappy music like Blink 182. Superstylin’ by Groove Armada fits the bill. The title alone and the main chorus fit nicely.

I wanted this to be the goal song a few years ago. It might be better as the skate out song to start the game. Get's people fired up!

I don't even remember when exactly that was. Mostly just recall Sutter going with what eventually turned into the Preds go-to goal song.
