AG (after dark show) notes that Aho and Svetch are not a good combo. He recommends (ugh) that Martinook play with Aho. I agree with AG's assessment re: Aho-Svetch combo but having Martinook on the top line always seems a stretch to me beyond a periodic shake up of the lines.

Plus, then you get Svetch on the 3rd line which is not what you want your 2nd overall draft pick to fall back to. Svetch had 4 Grade A's last night but didn't cash in. I was hoping that his 2nd year after surgery (and at 25 this season) would yield a superstar Svetch but perhaps that will never come to pass.

btw: He also noted that Jarvis did have surgery over the summer but that doesn't align with an interview of Jarvis pre-season in which he said he just rested and strengthened it.

edit: AG is connected but here is a Hockey news article stating that Jarvis did not have surgery:

Wolves signed someone to a PTO that would mean someone is coming up likely Perets
well, two opposite thoughts:

1) I'm glad that Martin cleared waivers earlier this year
2) I'm despondent that we will have a Martin-Perets combo. AND

Please Mr. Tulsky, can you please move on from Freddie after this year (unless you can find a good replacement for Freddie and move him)

I would say there’s almost zero chance Freddie will be back this circus of injuries has gone on too long he’s not reliable and it’s proven time and time again

I get Skinner vibes from Svech in the way that there’s an inability to build chemistry with the top guys on the team. Would not be opposed to moving on from him at this point if the right deal can be made.

I wonder what the price would be on Sogard from Ottawa. There’s no clear path for him with Ullmark signed long term and Forsberg there as well. Only 23 big guy I’d be interested in taking a flyer if the price was right

Here is the list of Goalies that are near or $1M above Freddie's compensation.

Canes have been able to money puck the G position for a while but can they continue to do so to get a quality duo:

So the Wolves just signed a goalie to a PTO. Probably not a great sign for the situation we have with Freddie and Kooch right now

He is almost as big as the walrus in the commercial so that’s a possibility.

Oh, and for anyone worried about the SkyCam camera angle from last night's show, at the moment, it looks like it's a Utah arena thing, so no more nausea in the near future.

Not sure what can be done about the blackouts, as to my understanding, that's an issue that's coming from outside the production truck

I saw some word on reddit that it was an ESPN issue that affected multiple NHL games. Given that I was able to tune in near the end of the 1st, they seem to have gotten it fixed.

And I think the sky cam could have some useful things to offer. Just maybe fly it a little less enthusiastically.

Don't laugh, but with the Pens going with a firesale (they're going to get the 1st overall, aren't they?), how about Ned? He did look his best behind our defense, and there's stylistic synergy with Koochie if we think that he plays well enough to keep as a backup after this year.

It does speak to how much of a bargain Andersen's contract is, though. Even if he plays limited games that's a hell of a deal for what he brings. If he would re-sign for that, it's not crazy to just keep him on and carry a third for injury insurance with how cheap Kochetkov is as well.

Also, Oettinger's contract more than doubles next year.

The problem with the SkyCam is that its two issues directly oppose themselves.

Move it too fast and it causes dizziness and nausea.
Move it too slow and it can't keep up with the play
