Kotchetkov is very much like most goalies. They get better as they face a lot of shots (look at Vejmelka tonight).

But the Canes don’t give up a lot of shots in most games. And when they do, it’s often high quality chances or a complete defensive disaster.

Honestly, I wonder if the altitude had anything to do with it. Denver is known for the effect of thin air on visiting teams, and SLC isn't much lower.

Possibly. There was some VERY uncoordinated attempts at clearing the zone tonight, especially in that 3-goal, 8 minutes in the 3rd. Altitude might explain it. Might also have just been shitty play.

Meh, it happens. We all expected that it would take some time for this team to gel and the team would have a rough start to the season. We've been pleasantly surprised at how quickly they did gel and how well the new guys have stepped in, but there will still be growing pains and bad periods.

I still have concerns about Pyotr being "the guy" but if he's really battling a broken finger, it's hard to say. Freddie's injuries will always be a concern, but I have no confidence at all in Martin at all. Hopefully Freddie comes back soon.

Aho and Svech need to start having more of an impact on the scoreboard.
