It fits him well, he's always been a creative playmaker but he got typecast immediately because of the shot. At C he can move around more without the constant stopping and starting which is taxing for a big guy. He has great vision and passing and draws a lot of D attention because he's such a threat with the puck, that opens more space for others and he can find them.

Defensively he's always been more responsible than his reputation, but it's also gotten better over the years. I don't know if his line has yet allowed a goal while he's been a C?

He has a career high of 35 assists... He's might be a pretty good passer, but he's not a "great playmaker".

There are players like that though who play center very well. Matthews, Zibanejad.

Centers are usually more of horses, going up and down the rink right in the thick of the play. I don't see Laine as that kind of player. I seem him more as someone on the perimeter and background kind of in the weeds looking to pounce when there's a chance.

I dont think it works but its definitley interesting.

I was against it at first but in very limited sample size he looked good last year. He was so much more involved in the play. Laine is an underrated playmaker.

Also all the dorks still making the lazy Fortnite jokes need to get with the times or get new material. He’s been nothing but a workhorse for the CBJ. He left that crap in Winnipeg.

he's got a body like a bag of milk and the agility of a canoe. elite release/accuracy though...he could be sick if he wanted put the work in. that's never been evident though.
