Storm's Ryan McGuire Suspended for Seven Games - Ontario Hockey League

The Ontario Hockey League has assessed a seven-game suspension to Guelph Storm forward Ryan McGuire.

First order of business for the new director of player safety is to suspend Ryan McGuire. I don't remember them breaking out the suspension like this in the past where it's 3 games for the reckless behavior and 4 for repeat offender. I know that being a repeat offender was factored in before but I just don't remember seeing it called out when a suspension was announced.

Thank God this guy wasn't around last year so we got the full benefit in Saginaw of Papa Hache He's still the director of officiating so I'm sure he's still telling all the officials which teams to call penalties on.

It will be interesting to see if there is a change in suspension duration with a new commissioner and this new position of player safety director. I think some are automatic but the ones where there's a repeat offender will be the interesting ones.
