Blue Jays Discussion: Vladdy has signed 14 yr/500mil

59. Bloss
70. Nimmala
82. Roden
112. Tiedemann

Gunnar Hoglund is 87.
Nice to see appreciation for Roden.

I’m surprised to see Hoglund that high. His numbers aren’t that impressive and he’s 25.

Their offense is putrid. 1 for the season with RISP. 8 runs in their first 5 games, 7 of them coming in their first two games

Their 7-9 hitters are beyond trash. They had De La Cruz, Kelenic, and Arcia occupying those spots last night, that likely won't change now with Profar out and Acuna still 45+ days away. I guess they can always throw Verdugo in there lmao

I dont know if anyone here does the Immaculate Grid but today's is just Played in Majors

I input tonight's lineup and it got a lower score than actual guesses.

Bloss got rocked tonight in his first start of the year. 4 IP, 8 runs. Only 3 earned because 1 error in the 1st with 2 outs was followed by 5 runs. 9 hits, 2 walks, 1 K.

It's a shame, I was all on board for Babe mania but he hasn't been able to make adjustments to the pitchers adjusting to him.
With his height, he would have needed to be a Dustin Pedroia level hitter to have stuck to be honest. I was never really ever a believer.

Fangraphs has Gimenez at -0.8 runs defensively this year. Not including positional adjustment which is 0.1 for him. I know the eye test is bad but that's worse than Santander's -0.7. Santander also gets himself a negative positional adjustment which makes him worse overall, but Gimenez being the worst defensive Jay thus far when we ignore the positional adjustments has to just be statistical noise right? He's made some great plays.

Davis Schneider will probably be sent down at some point this year and disappear. He just hasn't hit at all

Yeah, feels like Biggio last year. A guy without a role or a position or a standout skill who just can’t seem to hit consistently enough to justify keeping him around.

There's a disclaimer on there somewhere that their defensive stats don't work in small samples. Drs and oaa are tracking but contain noise, but some of the subcomponents require more time to actually meaningfully exist.

The stats will look like this for a bit until one day all the numbers should change (in some cases, it could be significant)
