Scherzer has confirmed he has nerve damage in his thumb/hand, which when trying to pitch around he obviously has to overcompensate which in turn could lead to lat, shoulder, bicep and other assorted nerve damage, hence the imminent danger comment.

I suspect that security was given a directive that red hats were not to be in the stadium because of the risk of a confrontation and then didn’t distinguish based on what the hat said.
