Netflix. If I fell on hard economic times I'd rather have access to a bunch of shows than music. I have 1100 songs in my iTunes. I can live without access to others I don't have. Or I can listen to them on YouTube.
This entirely.
I don't get people who pay for netflix when you can stream the same shows free online. Yes you have to make a few more clicks, but they have one big thing netflix doesn: up to date on current shows.
If you are watching a season airing every week, its free to stream each episode online like 7 minutes after it airs, netflix you gotta wait 8 month for the full season. If I only used netflix and nothing else youd be watching things months late.
Spotify is great
I can use "other methods" to watch any show I want
Sure you can use other methods to listen to music but Spotify is so much more convenient and great for discovery of new music
Ain't nobody heard of Spotify and chill
I just did this. You don't lose it all. But all your offline songs will be automatically deleted.I've been paying for spotify. Because of a phone package upgrade, I'm now going to get it free from my provider (Rogers). Does anyone know if it's possible to cancel my paid subscription and take up my free subscription without losing all the music i've downloaded and custom streaming lists i've created? (i.e. will what i currently have get wiped out if i switch from my paid premium version to the rogers-provided premium version?)

The saved songs will stay. I never used playlists so I don't know about that one.
What's the difference between offline songs and saved songs? Aren't offline songs your saved songs?
Not trolling...honestly obtuse about this sort of stuff.
Offline songs are offline, they dont use data.
Saved songs just get saved to your library, you still need data to play them.
They stay in your library, but they wont be offline anymore once your subscription or plan is done.
But I just realized I misunderstood your question, I thought you said cancelling you subscription altogether, my mistake. Dont know how that one works.
However, I would assume if you go to the free version at any point you will lose your offline songs. It happened to me immediately.
I actually do this now, but it's a hassle. Spotify is more convenient, you just type in the song and put it in whatever play list you want, or discover new artists,I really can't understand ever using spotify. Not when you can easily rip the mp3 files from your CDs and put them in a dedicated music player (doesn't ALWAYS have to be your phone...most people miss this point. Furthermore, most android phones come with MicroSD card support, which is a godsend when you see how often MicroSDs can go on sale, thus giving even MORE space so long as you know how to create a partition in the phone to access that space). It's a wonder that music streaming is even a thing since people are paying more to listen to music that they likely already have access to.
At least Netflix gives you access to shows and is generally worth its admission price...that is, until you realize that Netflix is gimped in most places. Netflix Canada doesn't have anywhere near the kind of content that we see in USA, so that leads to VPN usage (which they're cracking down on). Nonetheless, I'd rather pay for Netflix than Spotify.
