Big news if you own a Play Station or a ROKU box :handclap:

NESN, the official home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox, launched on PlayStationâ„¢ Vue earlier this month to coincide with the start of the 2016-17 Boston Bruins season.

NESN is now available on several PlayStation Vue plans to fans in the network’s broadcast territory, which includes Massachusetts, Connecticut (except for Fairfield County), Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

PlayStation™ Vue is an Internet-based live TV service from Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) that gives consumers an additional option to watch their favorite live TV content. PlayStation Vue is accessible through popular TV-connected devices such as PlayStation® 4 and Roku.

Is it possible to watch this with a providers account?? I have an account with my work, but I cant have their service because im out of footprint; so I just stream all their apps via chromecast.

ah friggin sony. Figures.

Definitely curious to hear reviews from members of this board who go this route. I, like many, am ready to "cut the cord" - sports make up 95%+ of my TV viewing and I could easily go without the other 5% if this is a good product/service.

The problem with this service is that you're at the mercy of your Internet connection.......which can often times be frustrating with these live stream apps.......I still think NHL Center Ice (aside from having NESN/Cable locally) is the way to go

I had GameCenter on my PS4 for a while when I lived out of the NE area, which I immediately cancelled..... if you have the even the SLIGHTEST bit of Internet lag with a service like this......you're screwed

NESN is horrible. They're website is horrible. They're programming and team features are horrible. They're like Espn. They can launch what ever they like, I only watch the games. Coverage is lame.

Watching NESN app?

Finishing off my man cave. My goal is to watch NESN on a smart tv without a cable box.

Does anyone have success with the NESN or an xfinity app via Roku or Apple TV or some other means?

Answered my own question. It works. I can watch NESN on my phone at work live.

Also I picked the $35/a month plan and saved myself like $40 a month using ps vue over upgrading my cable package.

I will have an idea how NESN on Roku looks in a couple of days.

Crap

Signed up yesterday and watched the game last night, It was fine until near the end of the 1st period when it started to buffer every 20 seconds to the point where I just shut it off. Restarted my router and Firestick with no change. Checked my download speed and it was over 50Gbps. Researched online only to find out its a widespread problem with Playstation Vue. Like everybody else, never had a problem wit Netflix, so it's not an issue with my equipment. Looks like I'll be cancelling this by the end of my free week.

I have vue. They mobile limit the channels you can view when you are outside your home network. I love vue. Ton of channels and no network issues that make it unbearable. Buffers occasionally but I am in bumpkin ville maine. Have good router and try out the free trial. I personally find using ipad and chromecast the easiest. I borrowed a ps3 and th guide sucks on it. Works with ton of tech so very flexible. $ 35 for nesn nbcsn NFL network espn and kids programming is worth it.

Yup. I'm enjoying it so far thanks.

The girlfriend and I were stuck with deciding whether to upgrade our cable to get NESN which would mean going from about $70 to $140 a month. Now I can upgrade for just
$35 more ($105 total). I'm happy to save the money.

I'm assuming the games would be blacked out if you live outside of NE?

so I did a little research on this last nite.
I guess a roku is $60 bucks. And they only work on one Tv. So its essentially like buying a cable box for each TV.

Also- NESN isn't available as a channel on Roku. Its available on Vue, and Vue is available on Roku. Which totally sucks.

I could see myself getting 3 Rokus for the house when they offer NESN as a standalone channel.

Or I can just hope that NESN offers an app that will actually do something useful and stream the games.

Been waiting for something from NESN via streaming app for a while. Sucks that I can't take advantage of this as I am out of the area .....

We cut the cord with DirecTV a few months ago and went with Vue. I have the Elite Slim package ($44.99 per month) which gives me 100 channels of live television including local channels. Some of the major networks are On Demand but all the shows are there. Having recently added NESN was sweet as it was the only real channel I missed.

At first I ran it through my PS3. The UI proved to be a little clunky (not easy for those who don't use the PS3). I ended up going with a Roku 3, which is much easier to use.

So far, I really like PSVue, that coupled with Netflix & Amazon Prime video and I have everything I could possibly need and nothing I don't and we're saving something like $80 a month. If you're looking to cut the cord, I highly recommend it.
