Player Discussion Neon Leon Draisaitl

So through some youtube scrolling I finally got around to seeing some of Colby Armstrong specials he's been doing with the players and I think I discovered one of the reasons why Draisaitl is so good.

So if this guy is any one but Draisaitl, what do you think is going to happen to the puck when it gets to him not only in this position on the ice but due to his body position alone? Not really in a shooting body position at all.

...And yet less than half a second later the puck is in your net. Incredible.

EDIT: what's even more incredible is that both Connor and Leon react the exact same way to Armstrong's attempts to be funny.

Did anyone see this guy's speed burst past Dahlin last night? He's fast AF when he turns it on. Man is he playing well this year, If him and Connor can stay healthy in the playoffs we have a chance. MVP

He needs to cut out some turnovers, but I feel like he's also going to turn it over a little in the offensive zone making plays. It's frustrating, but they usually aren't too hazardous.

I hate to say it, but I think it will. Kucherov, MacKinnon, Hellebucyk and even Makar may have jumped into the lead.
Interestingly, the betting sites still show Draisaitl and Hellebyuck as neck-in-neck. What's weird is that Kucherov is like 1/5000 or something crazy and MacKinnon has also dropped back. I'm not sure if sports books are a realistic representation of voters' decisions or not.

Edmonton at better odds at winning the cup last year before the playoffs started show that maybe they might be nearly almost right but still will take your money for you trying!

I bet Hellebuyck wins it. It's been a while since a goalie won it. I don't mind Hellbuyck winning it either.

The team wants the cup. I doubt these individual awards matter that much

Hi, I came from the main forum just to ask a quick question.

Are the last 2 years down years for Drai points wise? I know the team is way better built now but it honestly seemed like his 22/23 season was the beginning of a new of era of individual dominance.

And If you guys win the cup this year, is it not crazy to think a 140pt season and a returning to a normal 1-2 scoring punch of Connor-Leon is to be expected if fully healthy?

He was pacing for a 122 pts this season lol. I don't know how this could be considered a down year.

no, this wasn't a "down" year lol but 22/23 was his peak points season IMO
I think he he stayed healthy all year he gets to 120ish points and probably the Art Ross

I agree with you, but I think the writers are going to go Kucherov, McKinnon, and then either Hellabucyk or Drai.
That would basically be a second Art Ross trophy. The betting sites show Hellybuck as the favorite and Draisaitl close behind. Kucherov has gained some steam, but he's still like +1000 or something while MacKinnon is +15000. I'm not sure how well the sportsbooks predict the actual results.
